I want to address the points you mentioned as I see you have a few misconceptions or misunderstandings.

1. The live bait: you asked about this first thing in the morning and I explained to you that during this time of the year fishing with lures is more effective. In fact we caught several fish on the lures. My job as a skipper is to increase the chances of catching fish and since we’re out everyday day fishing we know what works and what doesn’t from month to month.

2. The 50mm lures: you also asked about this during the trip and I explained to you that this size and type of lure is similar to what the fish are feeding on. You wanted to use larger lures but I know from experience that these will not work during this time of year.

3. The misidentification of species: here you are being total wrong. From the very beginning you asked what we will be targeting and I told you we will be fishing for Bonito, Bullet tuna and skipjack tuna. Am I going to misidentify species I catch on a daily basis? Please…

4. The fish we caught: On the trip we caught Bullet tuna and Skip Jack. (No Bonito) In fact we caught caught so many Bullet tuna that half way through the trip I suggest to change location so we can also catch some other species.

5. The size of fish: We did not manage to land very large fish. Most of the fish were around 1kg size. Like every fisherman you would like to catch also large fish but as a fisherman you should also know that this is not always a guarantee.

I did my best to make sure you were on the fish as much as possible and in fact you caught fish throughout the entire 5 hours of the trip.

In the end of the trip we caught something like 10 Bullet Tuna and 3 SkipJack Tuna. You also had a few bites that came off the hook, happens…

I feel you your trip was overall successful, but we caught no large fish, that’s true, It’s frustrating sometimes.
