We booked an 8-hour charter with Captain Alek Fig and had an incredible day on the water. We started off bottom fishing and quickly caught over 20 snappers. Once we had those, we headed further offshore and ran into a once-in-a-lifetime school of mahi-mahi, catching about 20 of them. Through the whole trip, Captain Alek was kind, worked hard all over the deck, and made the actual fishing easy for all of us. He jumps right in to help bait hooks and clear lines, keeping things stress-free no matter your experience level. We booked this charter hoping for a good day of fishing, but Captain Alek completely exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Captain Alek knows these waters like the back of his hand. Within no time, he put us exactly where the fish were biting, and we were pulling in some incredibly high-quality mangrove snapper. The action was non-stop, and the gear and boat were in pristine condition.The absolute highlight of the trip, however, happened after the lines were pulled in. Captain Alek took a portion of our fresh mangrove snapper right there on the deck and prepared the most spectacular, delicious ceviche I have ever tasted. It simply does not get any fresher than eating your own catch cured in citrus and spices right out on the water. It was the perfect ending to an already phenomenal day. Phenomenal service, highly knowledgeable captain, and top-tier hospitality. We will absolutely be booking with Captain Alek again next time we are in town! Highly recommend!

Our trip with Captain Alek was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we left the dock, it was obvious we were fishing with someone who truly knows the water. We had an amazing day, catching red snapper, mangrove snapper, and the highlight of the trip—a massive 61-inch mahi mahi. The experience of landing that fish was unforgettable. We had to chase it through a bait ball while it was fleeing from a jumping marlin. It was an incredible and thanks to Captain Alek’s quick thinking, expert boat handling, and calm guidance, we were able to hook and land the fish. On top of that, we came just one snapper short of limiting out for our entire group. Captain Alek worked tirelessly to keep us on the fish and made sure everyone had a great time. surprised our 4 fish loving kids with a first time experience of sea fishing. we picked the 4 hour sunset trip. Capt Alek had the best reviews online especially for handling kids on the boat. he sure lived up to the reviews! kids loved the ride to and from the fishing spot too. Each of the kids caught fish including barracudas and even a nurse shark! insane experience. kids havent stopped raving about. boat itself was well maintained and constantly kept clean. Capt Alek provided ice cold drinks. bathroom was well kept too. A definite must do in Miami! and will definitely redo this experience with the kids- 6-8 hours long!

Thank you Captain Alek, for making our first sea fishing trip such a success! The entire experience went very smoothly. You definitely won't go wrong if you choose to go sea fishing with him, the boat was very clean, he prepared various drinks for us, and also provided the bait. He replied to messages very quickly after we booked, which helped us stay in touch and finally meet smoothly at the departure point. The whole fishing trip lasted four hours. He was very patient in teaching us how to fish,we had absolutely no experience at all ! and in the end, we caught a lot of snappers. We will definitely recommend Captain Alek to our friends! We only did a half day 7am-1pm and still hooked into around 12 fish between 4 guys and kept 10. A few bonita, a blue runner, and and around 8 blackfin tuna. Alek was very passionate about making sure we were figured out the correct way to jig for the Tuna so that everyone had a shot to get one. He would mark them on his screen and swing around if we drifted to make sure we were still on top them. We doubled up a few times as well! At the end of the day he took the time to fillet all of them for us to take home. He even cut some pieces for us to eat with soy sauce while he did so. We now have weeks worth of fresh Tuna! I would defnitely recommend this off shore trip for half or full day.

Capt. Alek was great and had us on fish for the whole trip. family with three boys (oldest 16, youngest 9) all had fun (and did i mention all caught fish !!). Alek was patient with my youngest and very helpful in explaining the tips/tricks to the older boys. We had awesome time, highly recommended, looking forward to the next trip.

Superb captain—highly skilled, incredibly professional, and truly knowledgeable about the ocean. If you want to catch fish, he’s the one to go to. He went above and beyond to make sure we caught enough, putting in real effort just to give us an unforgettable experience. To top it all off, he prepared fresh sashimi from the tuna we caught, paired with his own special seasoning—hands down the best sashimi I’ve had in Miami. Thank you, Alek! We’ll definitely be back.

I had a friend visiting town and we decided somewhat last minute to try to get out on the water. We booked at 6pm the night before, so I honestly wasn’t sure it would even be possible to make it happen on such short notice. From the start, the captain was incredibly organized and responsive. Communication through the platform messaging was quick and clear, which immediately gave me confidence that everything was being handled professionally. He also kept us informed about the weather and sea conditions and let us know ahead of time that offshore fishing wouldn’t be ideal, so we would focus on inshore instead. I really appreciated the transparency and the effort to set expectations. When we arrived, the boat was completely prepared and ready to go. Everything felt smooth and well thought out. What stood out most, though, was the captain himself. It’s rare to meet someone who is so genuinely passionate about fishing while also being incredibly patient with people who are not experienced. He took the time to explain things, helped us when needed, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun rather than intimidating.

We are ocean fishing novices and Captain Alex was patient and encouraging with my kids. Within 30 minutes of reaching our first fishing location my son hooked and landed a sail fish. He never stopped trying different tactics and different areas to get everyone in our party of 5 hooked on!!! We all caught fish. Bonita, black tuna, yellow jacks, red and yellow snaper, and a strawberry grouper. Some we were able to keep some we had to throw back. At the end of the trip Captain Alex filleted fish, for us and even made sashimi for us with the black tuna! couldn’t have asked for a better day highly recommend Captain Alex at Bearcut Bandit Charters!!!
