32' Blue Star Luhrs – Cabo Fishing Report
August 7, 2023
Jackie, Tom, Liam, Emily, Ben, Jessica and Stan, visiting primarily from the Philadelphia/South Jersey area, returned to Cabo waters for their second fishing charter in only three days.
This time, the seven anglers stepped aboard the 32' Blue Star Luhrs for a full eight-hour day. Their August 7 trip produced six dorado, giving the group a completely different fishing experience from their first outing.

A Second Cabo Trip for the Same Seven Anglers
Jackie's group had already experienced a productive Blue Sky Cabo charter on August 4.
That first trip took place aboard the 35' Blue Water Riviera and resulted in three dorado and two skipjack.
Only three days later, the same seven anglers were ready to fish again.
Their second trip put them aboard a different boat and gave them a longer eight-hour window to see what Cabo waters would produce.
That decision paid off with another productive morning and afternoon.
Six Dorado Become the Day's Story
Dorado accounted for the entire catch on August 7.
The group finished with six.
These fast-moving summer gamefish can shift considerably as currents, bait concentrations and water conditions change. Crews constantly watch for indicators such as bird activity, weed lines, floating debris and visible bait.
Finding the right signs can turn a quiet period into active fishing very quickly.
For Jackie, Tom, Liam, Emily, Ben, Jessica and Stan, the search resulted in six dorado during their second day offshore.
Eight Hours Opens More Fishing Options
The group selected an eight-hour charter, departing F Dock at 6:00 AM and remaining on the water until 2:00 PM.
Lunch was provided for all seven anglers.
Having eight hours available gave the Blue Star more flexibility than a shorter morning trip. The crew could continue searching, change areas when necessary and stay with developing opportunities without facing an early turnaround time.
For returning guests, that longer fishing day also created a noticeably different second experience.
Two Cabo Fishing Days, Two Different Results
One of the most interesting parts of this charter was how much changed in only three days.
On August 4, the group's catch was split between three dorado and two skipjack.
On August 7, dorado completely dominated the scorecard.
The second trip finished with six dorado and no other species recorded.
That's part of the appeal of booking multiple fishing days in Cabo. Offshore conditions are constantly changing, and yesterday's fishing does not dictate tomorrow's result.
Jackie, Tom, Liam, Emily, Ben, Jessica and Stan returned to F Dock at 2:00 PM after eight hours aboard the Blue Star with six dorado added to their Cabo vacation fishing record.
