Sounds Good Charters 

We had an awesome experience with Sounds Good Fishing Charter! We went out as a family with our 12- and 10-year-olds and had a blast trolling for Spanish mackerel. We caught plenty of fish and the kids had a great time. After that, we headed inshore and were able to hook into a red drum, which was a great way to finish the trip. Captain Mike was fantastic—personable, patient, knowledgeable, and especially good with the kids. He made sure everyone was involved and having fun throughout the trip. If you’re looking for a family-friendly fishing charter and want to put some fish in the boat, I’d definitely recommend Sounds Good Fishing Charter. We’ll absolutely go out with Captain Mike again!

I took my step grandson for his first fishing trip in the sound. We fished with cut bait without success. We then switched to popping corks with soft plastics. My step grandson toyed with one fish for about 10 minutes before it took the bait. We were using light tackle and a great fight ensued resulting in netting a 17” speckled trout. We caught other fish as well, but this one catch made the day! Captain Mike is a great guide for teaching young anglers how to fish. I will be fishing with him again!

we booked our trip shortly before a storm was on its way in, capt mike called me and gave me the option to cancel my charter because they didnt have much luck the day before, and the weather was making conditions worse. we decided to still go out, we limited out on trout, mike knew where to take us to have a good chance on a bad day and we struck gold. Awesome dude, get out there and fish with Mike!!

Captain Mike is knowledgeable and friendly, fishing has been tough due to weather but he worked hard and we brought in a blue fish and our first Spanish Mackerel, will book again on the next trip!

Captain Mike did a fantastic job getting me and my two boys on the fish! We trolled for and caught Spanish and will be fishing with SOUNDS GOOD again!

Fish weren't biting great but Capt Mike kept searching and finially caught some fish. From what I could tell no other boats was catching them as well. Hats off to Capt Mike for a good time and working hard to helping us catch fish !!

Mike was awesome. He was knowledgeable in the fish we were searching for and where to find the fish. I took my elderly father and my son who was a 1st time boater. Mike made sure everyone was constantly checked on and was always patient and attentive with my son, who at times, caught everything but the fish. He never once stressed over the amount of time we were out. He put us on Bluefish and Speckled Trout. We even pulled in a few skates as well. I would not hesitate to book a trip with Mike again. If you're looking for a trip where you'll be relaxed and taken care of, as well as a guy who is awesome with kids, book with Sounds Good Charter, I know I will again.

I booked Capt Mike before I even drove down to the OBX and he called me within 10 mins to say Hi, get an idea of what I wanted to do and he was ready for me at 7:30am on Monday (June 17, 2024) and within 10 mins of leaving the dock, I was setting the hook on Sea Trout. I had booked a 4 hr charter and didn’t want to kill my limit, only wanting to throw some filets on the grill. I think we caught 10 during the 3 hours we were out and by 10:30- I told Mike that I was ready to head in. The Sunday sunburn I got and the full sun we were getting was just too much for me. Mike was working hard all morning- checking in w other charters to see how they were doing… and honestly… we were doing better than most. We casted for Sea Trout with a ‘popping corks’ program. Being that the bay was shallow- less than 5 ft in most areas- casting made sense. But, Mike did tell me that some boats out there have very different programs, so be sure to ask the captain what he likes to do, and make sure that’s what u had in mind. I would DEFINITELY book Capt Mike again.

Wow, just wow! From the first minute to the last Captain Mike was on point. He got us on the fish and that is great. Even if we didn't catch one fish the day would have been worth it. I could write a novel telling you how worth the day was. He was friendly and talking to those fish all day long telling them to bite. If you want a great day no matter what then go with Captain Mike. Aye, aye Captain!

Had a great day Fishing and exploring with my family. We are not experienced fishermen. Mike showed us the ropes and by the end of the day everyone was casting. My daughter who just wanted to jump off the boat to swim caught a blue fish and now she’s hooked. Looking forward to our next fishing trip with El Captain
