Deep Sea Fishing in Islamorada

Islamorada is the year-round angling epicenter you've been dreaming of your whole life. With the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean around the corner, the "Sportfishing Capital of the World" guarantees a memorable bluewater pursuit. And Islamorada deep sea fishing charters will make sure you experience firsthand what deep sea fishing in Islamorada is all about.

Be they bottom-dwellers or surface swimmers – Islamorada has them all! Prized catches for everyone's taste are scattered throughout the Keys’ fisheries. Snappers and Groupers, for example, frequent the area around reefs, while Tuna and Billfish dominate the open waters. And Mahi Mahi and Wahoo always lurk nearby to spice your deep sea fishing quest up.

Out of all the superstars that call these waters home, Blackfin Tuna and Sailfish are true VIPs. Blackfin are small but admirable opponents. Sailfish are both impressive in size and strength. They're your ultimate deep sea fishing rivals. Enviable Blackfin specimens come in fall, whereas Sailfish trophies shine in winter. Summer is reserved for picture-perfect Mahi Mahi.

To maximize your chances of landing a record-breaking monster, you'll have to book at least a full day trip. After all, battling Billfish takes time! Plus, you'll have to employ different fishing techniques to locate them before locking them in a duel. A trolling and chumming combo is the most efficient for luring them your way. It works wonders with all deep sea residents.

Angling aboard one of many top-notch Islamorada deep sea fishing charters means you don't have to worry about equipment, permits, or finding the sweet spots. Your captain will take care of everything so you can focus entirely on reeling in your jackpot. However, if you plan on hitting the offshore waters on your own, check the latest rules and regulations before heading out.

Plenty of sunscreen and be prepared to hunt for fish on the move. Offshore definitely preferable to bottom fishing this time of year.

Amazing time of the year to go fishing here in the Florida keys, Islamorada. Very quiet on the island as not many tourists are here. Weather is beautiful with little to no wind. Seas have started to cool down and the abundance of bait and fish is outstanding.

The islands are historically good for fishing. Water is beautiful and there are plenty of fish. Many choices of accommodations and restaurants. Very "laid back" beach town vibe. WE will definitely go back!

Come to the Keys at the right time of the year- spring /early summer or fall- winter time, July - August the water gets to 90 degrees and above- not conducive to great fishing. But itโ€™s still beautiful down here no matter the season.

It's too hot during the day if you're not from here. It's especially hot this year over others.

Observe and take in the unique beauty of the area. We caught good fish, but also saw porpoise, sharks, stingrays, crocodiles, osprey, pelicans, shorebirds and an eagle. Awesome experience.

Be patient, listen to your captain, the fish are big but the ocean is much bigger, not easy to always find fish that are always on the move! What worked yesterday might not work today, so donโ€™t over expect!

Research, google, and try more than one charter. Call the Captain and others. Be ready for rough seas. If youโ€™re prone to seasickness, come prepared. But also be ready to have some fish to freeze.

A cute marina just off of A1A. Leave early because Google Maps isn't too accurate and the parking is a little tight.

Have fun and enjoy the experience. Sometimes you catch a lot of fish, sometimes you donโ€™t, but it should be about having fun and being on the water.

Remember it is fishing and not "catching". No guarantees in the open water. Take your time and find the right guide service. Singing Reel with Captain Tony had great reviews and was recommended by Fishingbooker. They were a great choice.
