How long should I stay?
Deep sea fishing in Naples deserves a full-day adventure, if not a multi-day trip. However, half a day can be enough to taste the offshore waters. Your captain will take you checking the bite from 9 to 20 miles out. Out there in Gulf, you never know what you may find at the end of your fishing line. There are Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda, Cobia, Kingfish, Sharks, and many more.
A proper full-day charter usually goes up to 40 miles into the Gulf. There, the waters teem with Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack, Permit, Triggerfish, Amberjack… There are just enough monsters to bend your rod and make your reel scream. Just think of the giant Permit that exceed 40 pounds! You will fish various ledges, wrecks, towers, and reefs.
What if I stay longer?
While you can enjoy a full day on the water and come back to shore with your very own catch of the day, there is something even more exciting. Think of all the species you can land 40 miles offshore, but bigger and more plentiful. Trolling for Kingfish and Barracuda does sound cool, but a die-hard angler wouldn’t miss the opportunity to go further and fish bigger.
The Dry Tortugas is just about a couple of hundred miles from Naples. This remote island is surrounded by pristine coral reefs and deep water wrecks - a true angling paradise. Yes, you can catch an extraordinary variety of world-class game fish all on a single trip!
Deep sea fishing out of Naples is mostly done by trolling or anchored. It is great year-round, but some species are available in bigger numbers during the winter months. When the weather cooperates, the action is spectacular.

"Half day trip"
Had a Great day with captain Bobby and first mate Pablo. Caught plenty of fish and unfortunately the big one got away with their five dollar hook. Our first time deep see fishing and it was a blast. Hope to be back soon and I will be sure to ask for captain Bobby and first mate Pablo Joe Hoffman and family
"Half day withBrian"
Just a wonderful day with my son . Brian taught us a lot about fish and fishing in the gulf. We laughed a lot and it didn’t matter how much fish we caught. We had a pile fish filets for dinner and a lot of stories about our afternoon. I would recommend “Smokin Hooks” for any one who wants a deep sea fishing experience. Good value for the price
My family and I enjoyed our deep sea fishing experience aboard Smoking Hooks on 08/20/2016. Captain Brian is awesome. Three of the four add no experience fishing but Captain Brian assured us we would catch plenty of fish and we did !!!!! Deep Sea Fishing with Smokin Hooks is where "Everything is Awesome"
