    Biggest catch of the season!!

Ozzy was a fabulous captain and fishing guide. He picked us right up at the marina near our hotel. It was just a short boat ride out to our spot and the moment I dropped my line, I had a fish on! We caught cod, coal fish, haddock, hake and polac. my daughter had the monster trophy fish of the day!! Ozzy thanks agsin for a great morning.

    Great fishing in Norway

Had a great afternoon with Captain Ozzy. He graciously let us start the trip once we got into port with our cruise, was very knowledgeable and personal, worked hard to ensure everyone caught fish and had plenty of snacks/water. Also great communication with him before the trip — very responsive. we caught 4 different types of fish on our trip and about 2 dozen in total — despite the weather being less than ideal. Would definitely book with him again should we ever return to Norway.

    Captain Ozzy is fantastic!

We had so much fun fishing on a beautiful day with Captain Ozzy. He is fantastic and very fun to be around. He took time to explain the area to us and was very helpful in getting us to catch fish. Would recommend Captain Ozzy to anyone coming in to town and looking for a private charter for fishing.

(Special 2 hour trip for Justin Welsh)

    Amazing Time!

Trif was very responsive, and kindly accommodated the trip for our 8 and 9 year olds kids. He made them feel very comfortable, helped them fish, and they had a blast! He was great to chat with as well. We all caught fish too. Highly recommend as a guide if you’re in Ålesund!

Coalfish fishing is all about fast action and strong runs. Also called Saithe, this Cod family sport fish forms big schools and hits hard. Anglers love its clean fight, steady bite windows, and firm white fillets after the trip.

You can target Coalfish by spinning, jigging, or bottom fishing. Cast metal jigs, spoons, or soft plastics and keep them moving. Jigging means lifting and dropping your lure to trigger a strike. Natural baits like Mackerel, Herring, Squid, or Whiting strips work well. Many crews also drift baits over rocky structure or wrecks, or slow troll deep-diving lures.

Expect quick bites when a school pushes bait fish to the surface. The action suits beginners and kids, yet still thrills seasoned anglers. Bring warm layers, a hat, and sun protection, since wind and spray are common. Non-slip shoes help on a wet deck. Most trips provide tackle and safety gear, but confirm what is included before you go.

Before any Coalfish fishing trip, check local rules. You may need a fishing license or permit. Seasons, size limits, and daily harvest limits can change by area. Ask your captain or local authority about current regulations, and follow best practices for careful handling and selective harvest.
