Northern Lights Adventures 

Captain Sean was great both days, we had a different first mate each day. Josh AKA “The Perfect Catch” (c; was up on the first day and Al joined us the second day. All three were great guys very personable and great fishing buddies! The first day we landed 18 lake trout. I’m pretty sure Josh may have out fished the Captin that day. On the 1/2 day trip I know Al out fished Sean, with Al hooking all 4 and Sean with the 🪿 🥚 (c; Would highly recommend this charter!! We will plan to be back next year god willing.

Our family had an outstanding experience on this charter fishing trip. From the moment we stepped aboard, the crew was approachable, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating, even arranging to pick us up on Madeline Island. What stood out most was how comfortable they made everyone feel, regardless of fishing experience. None of us are serious sport fishers, but they explained everything clearly, answered every question, and helped us every step of the way. We never felt intimidated or out of place. The atmosphere was family-friendly, inclusive, and encouraging. Safety was clearly their top priority. Within minutes of boarding, both kids were fitted with secure life jackets, and everyone on the boat wore slim-profile flotation gear throughout the trip. It was reassuring to know the crew was CPR-certified and equipped with both first-aid supplies and an AED. They were careful, professional, and genuinely kind. The crew’s knowledge of the lake, fishing conditions, and local environment was impressive. When equipment tangled or something broke, they handled it quickly and calmly without any frustration or drama, keeping the experience fun and stress-free. The lunch was excellent, and booking the full-day trip was absolutely worth it. We were able to travel further out on the lake, enjoy more solitude, and fish in areas where we didn’t see another boat for hours. If you’re considering a charter fishing trip, especially as a family, I can’t recommend this crew highly enough. They made the entire day enjoyable, educational, safe, and memorable.

The captain and his crew was amazing, very funny guys, we felt at home and learned alot, we caught fish and had lots of laughs. i would recommend this trip to anyone. if your just loooking for the experience a half day is great and if you are looking for a full day, these guys can do it all!! we will return for another trip of fishing!

Sean and Savanna were amazing captains! They are super knowledgeable of the area and history of the lakes and islands, know the fishing spots, know a great shallow and clear spot for swimming, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and more! They are very laid back, funny, and friendly! We would definitely book through them again!

My wife and two sons were up from Kentucky visiting friends in Ironwood and we wanted a good Lake Superior fishing experience. Northern Lights with Capt Sean and first mate Josh gave us just that. We got out early on a cold October morning but were instantly rewarded soon after the lines hit the water. We caught several nice Coho Salmon and the waters were smooth and perfect. The day slowly warmed up and we enjoyed chatting with Sean and Josh throughout the trip. The boys both reeled in their very first fish and we all shared in their excitement. A very memorable day on the water!
