Finesse Angler (Denver) Bass/Trout 

We had a great day fishing. The kids had a great time and our son who really likes fishing loved it. The weather conditions with the wind would have been impossible for us to even try fishing so we really appreciated the expertise and help. There were a lot of technical things we wouldn't have known anything about and the behaviors of the fish in order to be successful in fishing today. The experience made it way more relaxing and enjoyable for us as parents. Our teenager didn't want much to do with it but she did bring in a couple of fish so it was flexible which was also great. I would recommend this for all skill levels and all ages of kids.

We showed up about 45 minutes late, but the captain was super understanding and didn’t make it an issue at all, which we really appreciated. It was me, two friends, and their two kids, and he made the whole experience easy and enjoyable for everyone. Within the first hour, we already hit our limit. We even released some of the smaller ones and kept fishing just for fun. Biggest trout we caught was around 17–18 inches. Average size was about 14 inches. Captain was friendly, patient, and made sure we all had a great time—especially the kids. Overall, a really fun trip and definitely worth it. Would book again.

Captain Shawn was fantastic. We caught number of trout in a variety of sizes on ultralight gear. As a fisherman from the Midwest I enjoyed the challenge of learning new styles of fishing. Trout are finicky and can be fragile. Captain Shawn found a great balance in putting us on fish, figuring out what they were hitting on and how deep all while respecting the natural resource. Great job and i will rebook his services when I’m back in Denver! Next time it’s a Bass trip!

We had a great day with Shawn. He was patient, explained everything and adjusted the day to fit what fish my son wanted to catch (bass, trout, etc). He communicated throughout the entire process from booking through the day of explaining exactly where to meet. Highly recommend Shawn.

communication throughout the process was very good. The equipment was perfect for the trip. Shawn took the time to explain the techniques used to catch fish. He was very knowledgeable of the lake we fished. I caught plenty of fish and also landed a great fish at the end of the day.

This is my 3rd time going out with Shawn and I always do great, he knows how to put you on some fish. Today I went out with my father in law and as a boat we caught 30 smallmouth bass and they were all "nice fish". I will continue booking with Shawn and I recommend him if your after some fish in the Denver area.

Had a great experience. Over 25 fish in just 4 hrs. Captain gave us a couple options on what type of fishing we could do i.e. trout, bass, walleye. then gave us great instruction on proper techniques, casting, etc. I was with my family of 4.

We were very fortunate to have caught a ton of HUGE trout, but more importantly Shawn was great with the whole family and helping everyone get the hang of things. Very glad we had him taking care of us today!

Shawn was a great guide in every respect. He not only kept us on fish all day at Chatfield Reservoir he taught us how to do it ourselves the next time we go out. Thank you Shawn for a great day of smallmouth bass fishing!
