Tough fishing conditions, but Captain Del made it happen!

8 Hour – Halibut Shared (copy) el mayo 24, 2026 • 1 adulto

Found a small window to get out on the ocean during the only day that was forcasted to be doable for halibut fishing. Captain Del gave his 100% in spite of choppy seas and stubborn fish and in the bottom of the 9th, we were able to produce a couple of nice models. I look forward to fishing with Captain Del for future trips!

Perfect day of fishing!

6 Hour – Lingcod/Rockfish Shared el agosto 27, 2025 • 6 adultos

Captain Del greeted us in the parking lot before the sun had come up which can be a bit daunting when on vacation but was well worth it. He took us through safety procedures and we were off into a morning of fog and lots of wave rolls. We settled in a spot and before we could get two reels in the ocean we were catching fish. Captain could hardly keep up with us as fast as we were reeling them in. He knew where we needed to go. He shared his knowledge, his humor and ultimately made today a perfect day of fishing. As we sat around tonight eating crab and fish tacos we all agreed that we highly recommend going out with Captain Del!

Fantastic fishing with the kids

We had a great experience taking grandpa and our children out fishing with Captain Del.  Everyone had an absolute great time and Captain Del was the main reason for that.  He was very helpful and patient.  He took us directly to a spot where we essentially just reeled in fish after fish.  We reached our limit within a couple of hours, but Captain Del took care of everything.  He worked up quite the sweat unhooking all the fish as well and repairing the occasional bottom snag.  He had a great attitude throughout it all and I would highly recommend him to friends and family.  The trip made a positive lasting impression on our kids and I am glad that they are now excited for possible future fishing trips.

Salmon Fishing Trip Review – Newport, OR - Family of 4

Our family of four, visiting Oregon from Georgia, had an incredible salmon fishing adventure out of Newport with Captain Del on Rippin Lips II.  From the moment we stepped aboard, Del’s knowledge, patience, and friendly demeanor set the tone for a fun and successful day on the water.  He expertly guided us, ensuring everyone was comfortable and engaged throughout the trip.  We caught some beautiful salmon, picked up some Dungeness crab made some great memories!  We highly recommend Captain Del to anyone looking for a first-class fishing experience on the Oregon coast!     War Eagle and Go Dogs!  Nothing but smiles!

Doesn’t get any better than Del!

I’ve been fishing for years, just not in this fishery. We are newbies here on vacation with local family. We ended up booking a second day as well because we all had so much fun. He knows the spots, beautiful clean new boat and gear, and we were on the fish the whole time. He’s a great guide and wonderful with the kiddos as well. In a nutshell, DEL CARES!! 
Every one of us limited out on both days(fish and crabs). Look no further if you like to catch!! TEN STARS!!!! We will be booking again for sure next time we are in the area.
