Panhandle Pursuit Shark Fishing 

I have purchased my fair share of fishing trips. I have to say, without a doubt, this was the best one I have EVER been on. We booked for a Sunday, but I received a call that afternoon that conditions were not necessarily the best and that we would have better chances the following night. He could have just kept the booking and taken our money, but he didn't. We rescheduled for the next evening. Very honest guy. He gave us easy to follow directions to the beach parking and then sent us a map of how to locate him and his crew. It was very easy. We brought snacks and drinks and that was all we needed. We met at the Destin East Jetty. He had a chair for each of us and poles were in the ground when we arrived. We walked up right at start time. He was fully prepared with bait and began kayaking out immediately. He was great at explaining things to my 11 year old son and teaching him how to be a shark fisherman. He had four huge heavy rods. We didn't even have all of the bait out yet when we got our first hit. He ran over, set the hook, and got my boy to reeling immediately. It was great! A few minutes later, we got our second shark....this time a blacktip! About 10 minutes before the end, the reel went crazy! MONSTER HAMMER! He immediately assured us he was staying as long as it took to get it in. it took about 70 minutes, but we wrangled it in finally. 14 feet 7 inches. My boy and I couldn't get a photo with her because of where she ended up, but he was able to get there. What a beast and what an experience! This trip fully exceeded my expectations. He worked the entire time we were out there. He did everything within his power to make sure we had a good time and had the best chance at catching fish, and that's all we can ask for. He has a camera person there to record everything and we got tons of photos and videos. The only regret I have with booking this trip is that it was the greatest trip my son has ever been on, and he will not stop begging me to take him back and do it again! We will be back! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What an awesome experience; from the poles, reels, and rigs to getting to hook, reel, and hold in our hands, 2 sharks. One of which was a 10’ Lemon, just may be his personal best for that species. Ricardo is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. He understands the different species with their travel paths and why they travel in such a way. He matches that with the moon phase and tide chart to give you the best possible outcome. The compassion comes from his understanding that these are living creatures, and are to be respected and treated humanely. It showed when our two sharks were caught. I will be booking again. My family and I traveled to Destin for our first time together and chose Ricardo as our guide to help us with our very first ever shark fishing experience. He was very social, friendly, knowledgeable and overall very helpful making the entire experience comfortable and we really had a great time. He has a huge passion for shark fishing and you can definitely tell. He brought all the bait, poles, and gear that you’d need and had it completely set up when we arrived. Ricardo had 5 different poles set up and used bait such as sheep head fish and stingrays to catch a great variety of sharks. Ricardo also had chairs set up as well making it easier on everyone and for comfort while we stayed at the beach during our 5 hour experience. We were able to catch a Bull shark and a Blacktip shark during our visit. Ricardo will show you how to do the entire process but will also do it for you if needed. Everyone helped one another throughout the entire experience with no stress and no worries he will make certain that you and your family stay safe and have fun! I highly recommend booking with him and trusting him as your guide. He is most definitely in great shape and can handle these sharks with no issues. We were extremely impressed and we will be back again one day!

Even though we didn’t catch a shark, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ricardo is a true professional who worked hard from start to finish, constantly changing tactics and doing everything possible to put us on fish.
