Calabash Fishing Fleet – Miss Calabash 

Excellent trip in every way. Prior to the trip, the captain communicated often with me to provide details and updates. I even had to change the trip date, which was immediately accomadated. For a special shout out to our crew, Alec and Roy, the captain and deck mate. they baited our hooks every time and pulled the fish off of the hooks. They were outstanding. Our little group of 7 people caught over 200 fish for the day. I couldn’t believe how well the fish were biting. What a fun day we had and can’t wait to go again.

We planned and reserved 11hr trip out to the gulfstream on a semi-private 16 person boat as part of a Bachelor’s weekend for the guys. The owner, Captain Bob, called me the evening before we were set to depart in order to alert me of a bad offshore ocean forecast for the next morning, and for that reason he was having to cancel that trip. Yet knowing why we were there, he offered to let us do a 3/4 day Nearshore private charter in it’s stead, but this would be aboard a smaller vessel than what we had originally booked, to which we gladly accepted. The waters was very rough, though Captain, crew, and vessel handled it just fine. We caught quite a few Spainish mackerel trolling, some Blues while bottom fishing that we ended up using as cut bait for the shark rigs, and 3 or 4 Atlantic “Sharp Nosed” sharks all being 3-4 foot in length (Perfect eating size). Listen, all in all, the water was pretty rough, and the boat was a bit hard to to move around freely on. But Captain Randy, and his first mate were completely first class couple of guys, because they probably would’ve rather not been out there themselves on those rough ass swells either, but they never let it be seen by us. We saw some 5 and 6 foot swells spaced out about 3-4 seconds apart (pretty rough) But the Callabash Fishing Fleet, Captain Bob (the owner operator), and Captain Randy saved our Bachelor Weekend Fishing Trip, and managed to put us on a few fish, and now we have another fishing story to tell! Thanks to everyone at the Callabash Fish Fleet on Little River in Callabash NC! Thanks A Million Guys!! Oh, and I heard Captain Randy Has A Pretty Good Band and plays a mean rhythm guitar Also! I’ll be back in June Captain Randy, So I hope my Wife and I get to catch you guys out playing somewhere then! Thanks again Brother!

It was a beautiful day for fishing. It wouldn’t have mattered if we caught anything or not. It was just nice to be on the ocean with the kids. However, we ended up catching quite a few fish and everyone had a great time. David the captain and Holden the deckhand were amazing and knew right where to go to put us on the fish. I highly recommend this crew. They were very helpful and instrumental in making this trip unforgettable for my family. Thank you so much guys.

My family and I recently went on a deep sea fishing trip - we had a fantastic time! I highly recommend going on the Cyclone with Jordan and Holden, they both were amazing and made the experience very enjoyable! We caught tons of fish to take home, and Holden was even nice enough to fillet them for us! 10/10 would recommend requesting them, they were very helpful and encouraging! We hope to go again sometime! 😊

I booked this as a trip on the Miss Calabash because I wanted something smaller than a headboat. When we arrived, we were told the Miss Calabash had engine issues so we were moved to the Navigator (a headboat). The crew was great, but this is not what we signed up for. Also, the website for the Navigator says that adult tickets are $56. We paid $85 for the smaller vessel and no partial refund was offered. This company should not be advertising the Miss Calabash when that boat is out of commission. I truly felt this was a bait and switch situation.
