(Half Day Trip – Potomac Bass)

    Great Experience!

Captain communicated well with where we were going, how to throw the line and how to reel in fish. He took pictures and sent to us. He was really nice. We had such a good time.

    (8 Hour Trip)

    Excellent experience!

My guide John was very experienced. He delivered on all promises and I really enjoyed fishing with him. He provided all the gear and assisted you througout the process. I highly recommend him if you want to make memories that last. Another thing, the lunch offered on the trip was fantastic, Pad Thai (chicken or prawns).

    Non stop catches

great session with Chris, put me straight into the fish and learned a lot about catching both peacocks, snakehead and tarpon so I could make the most of my trip to Miami and get some solo fishing in. caught countless peacocks and a couple of snakehead, also some bonus tarpon

(2 Hr Trip – Guaranteed Peacock Bass)

Fantastic fishing trip in Ft Lauderdale

My son and I had an AMAZING time fishing with Fishing with Jake. Ron could not have been more friendly and generous with his guidance and expertise in these beautiful fishing spots in Ft Lauderdale. We couldn’t leave without claiming a couple t shirts to commemorate the successful trip. Between the two of us we caught over a dozen fish, the majority being Peacock Bass. Can’t recommend these folks enough. Thanks again!!!

Snakehead fishing is all about explosive strikes and hard fights. Snakehead are freshwater predators with long bodies and a snake-like head. Anglers target them for aggressive topwater hits, tough runs, and exciting sight-casting in shallow water.

You can catch Snakehead with spinning, baitcasting, or fly fishing gear. A medium-heavy rod and strong braided line help pull fish from weeds. Many anglers use a short fluorocarbon leader for abrasion resistance. Topwater frog lures shine over lily pads. Buzzbaits, which churn the surface, and soft plastics also work. Keep casts tight to cover and be ready for a fast hookset.

Expect action around vegetation, banks, and structure. The bite is visual and sudden, so quick reactions matter. This is a great choice for anglers who enjoy casting and moving. Bring polarized sunglasses to spot fish and cover. Pack sun protection, plenty of water, and light rain gear. Long-nose pliers and fish grips make handling safer. A local guide can help with safe landing and release techniques.

Before you go, check local regulations. Confirm fishing license or permit needs, and review any season, harvest, and transport rules. Requirements differ by location, and they can change. In some areas, handling or release rules for Snakehead are specific. Always follow current local guidance and fish responsibly.
