Resumen del viaje

This week has been one of the best weeks of the summer for black drum fishing along the Texas Coastal Bend. If you're looking for steady action and great table fare, black drum have been the most consistent catch on my guided fishing trips out of Rockport, Aransas Pass, and Port Aransas. The fish have been holding around deeper edges, shell, and muddy bottoms, and they've been eager to eat shrimp presented on a simple Carolina rig. The most productive setup has been a bottom rig with a Carolina rig and fresh live shrimp. This presentation has consistently put black drum in the boat throughout the day. While black drum have been the primary target and most common catch this week, we've also picked up a few quality speckled trout and redfish using the same setup. Keeping a bait on the bottom has been the key to finding fish despite changing tides and summer conditions. The nice thing about this pattern is that it's producing fish for anglers of all experience levels. Families with kids, first-time anglers, and experienced fishermen have all enjoyed steady action using live shrimp on a Carolina rig. It's an easy technique to learn and a great way to stay hooked up throughout the trip. As we move further into summer, I expect this black drum bite to remain strong while speckled trout and redfish continue to mix in. If you're planning a fishing trip in Rockport, Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, Corpus Christi, or the surrounding Texas Coastal Bend, now is a great time to get on the water. If you're ready to catch black drum, speckled trout, and redfish on a fun, family-friendly inshore fishing charter, I'd love to take you fishing. Mangrove Snapper Fishing Is on Fire in t
Mangrove Snapper Fishing Is on Fire in t

Mangrove snapper fishing has been on fire lately throughout the Texas Coastal Bend! These fish have been biting consistently, making them one of the most exciting species to target right now around Rockport, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, and Corpus Christi Bay. If you’re looking for steady action and some excellent fish to bring home for dinner, this is a great time to get on the water. Mangrove Snapper Are Biting The mangrove snapper bite has been excellent around structure, deeper channels, rocks, pilings, and other areas where these fish like to hold. When you find the right spot, the action can happen fast. Mangrove snapper are aggressive, strong fighters for their size, and a lot of fun for both experienced anglers and people who don’t fish very often. They’re also a great species for families and kids because there can be plenty of action once the bite gets going. Fishing Around Ingleside and Aransas Pass The Ingleside and Aransas Pass area continues to produce some great fishing. There is a lot of structure and moving water in this part of the Coastal Bend, which creates excellent habitat for mangrove snapper. Live shrimp has been one of my go-to baits. Getting the bait down around the structure where the snapper are holding can produce some hard strikes. You need to be ready when they hit. Mangrove snapper are quick and will head straight back toward structure if you give them the chance. Rockport and Port Aransas Mangrove Snapper Fishing Anglers staying in Rockport or Port Aransas don't have to travel far to experience this bite. One of the advantages of fishing the Texas Coastal Bend is the variety of water available. Depending on the conditions, we can fish different areas throughout the bays and channels while looking for the best bite. Mangrove snapper are only part of what we may encounter. Redfish, black drum, and speckled trout are also possibilities while fishing these waters. Corpus Christi Bay Fishing Corpus Christi Bay also offers excellent opportunities for inshore fishing. Structure, channels, reefs, and areas with good tidal movement can all hold fish. Conditions can change from one day to the next, so I pay attention to the wind, tide, water movement, and recent fishing activity when deciding where to start. Right now, mangrove snapper have definitely earned a spot near the top of the list. A Great Fish for Kids and Families Mangrove snapper are one of my favorite fish to target with families because they can provide exactly what many people want from a fishing trip: action. You don't need years of fishing experience to catch them. I enjoy helping beginners and kids learn how to feel the bite, set the hook, fight the fish, and get it into the boat. Whether you're an experienced fisherman or this is your first time holding a fishing rod, I'll help you throughout the trip.
