Capt Wes said the trip would be from 1330 to 1730. We left the dock at 1330 and did not return until 1920. We didn't get a single bite but it was not for lack of trying. Capt Wes and his crew stay out an extra two hours trolling trying to get us hooked up with a trophy size fish. The fish just didn't cooperate. It is why it is called fishing and not catching. As much as I would have loved to have my 11 and 7 year old get hooked into a 40 inch fish we had a lot fun being together on the water. Big thanks to Capt Wes and his crew for trying as hard as they did to try to get some meat on the deck.

We didn't catch any fish. That being said, sometimes that's just how fishing is and we still enjoyed our time on the water. It was apparent to us that Captain Wes and the mate were working to put us on fish, but for some reason they just weren't biting. It happens. Beyond that, our experience with Island Marine & Charter Fishing LLC was a positive one. Once booked, Captain Wes actively communicated with me prior to our trip and I really like that. The boat and equipment appeared well taken care despite its age and frequency of use. I would recommend bringing some travel chairs so that you can have some back support when sitting (It's been a while since I had chartered a boat and I forgot about that.).
This was a great experience! Captain Wes and his crew were very helpful with our friends. Many of us were new to charter fishing and by the time it was over all of us were semi experienced thanks to his crew! Will definitely come back!
