    Awesome Experience!

Captain Charlie was awesome! I had my two boys (7 & 4) and he explained everything to them and kept their attention on what they needed to do. The weather conditions were not optimal for catching a lot of fish, but we managed to haul in 3 decent sized fish. Memorable catches for my boys! If you want to find someone who makes fishing fun, go with Captain Charlie & Bucks Bass and Beyond!

Lake Trout fishing is all about big, powerful Char that love cold, deep water. Anglers target them for hard fights, beautiful colors, and tasty fillets. These fish thrive across many large lakes, and you can find action in every season when conditions line up.

Common tactics include trolling and jigging. Trolling uses moving lines to cover water, often with spoons or crankbaits. Many anglers add downriggers, which are weighted lines that take lures deep. Jigging means dropping a lure straight down and lifting it to trigger a bite. Tube jigs, swimbaits, and minnows work well. Fly fishing can shine in spring or fall when fish move shallow.

Expect steady searching, then sudden, strong runs once a fish eats. Fights are solid and can last, especially in deeper water. This suits beginners and seasoned anglers alike, as guides can tailor the plan to your comfort. Dress in layers, since mornings can be cold even in summer. Bring polarized sunglasses, snacks, water, and a camera. Most guides provide quality rods, reels, and tackle, but you can bring your favorites if you prefer.

Before your trip, check local rules. You may need a fishing license or special permit. Seasons, harvest limits, bait rules, and tackle restrictions can vary by lake. Make sure you review the latest regulations in your area so your Lake Trout fishing is safe and legal.
