About Captain TJ
Welcome aboard! I'm Captain TJ, your trusted guide out of South Padre Island, Texas. With over a decade of experience, I run a 24-foot Dargel boat powered by a 250 SS Suzuki, offering plenty of room and speed for an unforgettable fishing adventure.
We specialize in targeting big speckled trout and redfish, but we also chase flounder and black drum. Our local knowledge is second to none—we know these waters like the back of our hand. Our expertise has been recognized in several tournaments, including first-place finishes in 2025.
As true locals, my family and I live just minutes from the dock. My wife is an eighth-grade science teacher in Port Isabel, and our kids attend local schools, so we're deeply rooted in this community. Leurres uniquement • 3 adultes • 1 enfantWe had a fantastic trip with TJ Boom. He provided top-quality gear and did a great job teaching me and my 13-year-old some new techniques for catching trout. TJ was patient, knowledgeable, and clearly knows the water well. We caught plenty of trout, including a few nice keepers that turned into excellent fish tacos later that day. Highly recommend booking a trip with TJ if you’re looking for a fun and productive day on the water.

Sortie de 5 heures • 2 adultesThis is our second trip with Captain TJ. We got our trout limit before 7:45 am and went looking for Reds. We threw artificial and caught and released. We ran into a good school of large reds and hooked up for a good drag pulling Red. Back before noon for another successful trip. WE WILL BE BACK!

C'est la saison du flet ! Les poissons se cachent autour des herbiers et près des passes. Il y a aussi du tarpon, du brochet de mer, du tambour rouge et de la truite de mer tachetée dans les parages. Si le temps le permet, le vivaneau dans les eaux territoriales est très prisé.
