Great Day Catching Speckled Trout

Day 2 with Allen and his crew was a great way to wrap up the trip. The trout stayed active, and the group put together another solid catch while enjoying another beautiful morning in South Louisiana. It’s always rewarding when a multi-day trip comes together and everyone gets to experience consistent fishing. We appreciate Allen and his crew spending a couple of days with us and look forward to seeing them back in Dularge for another adventure!

I had the opportunity to take on another Gordon McKernan group trip, this time with Jay McKernan and his crew on board. We made a smooth run to the trout grounds and were greeted by calm seas and fish that were ready to eat. The action started early and stayed steady, with the crew putting together a great box of trout in short order. Some days everything just lines up, and this was one of them. Great conditions, plenty of bites, and a fun group to spend the morning with. Looking forward to the next trip.

Tough conditions with wind and very little tide movement made for a slower bite, but sticking with the right approach paid off. We focused on fishing slow and methodical, and the crew was able to put together a nice box of speckled trout along with some bonus redfish. Even on tougher days, patience and consistency get results.
