A great day aboard Looper2.0

The first two weeks here in Duluth Minnesota have consisted of LOTS of wind, and very cold temperatures. That being said we have still managed some awesome trips, catching lots of salmon. I predict that in the next few weeks some of the best fishing action is going to take place as the lake trout start to show up with warmer water temps! Don’t hesitate to book! Things should be getting really good!

This fullday trip started of fantastic with calm waters and hungry lake trout. By 8:00 the wind decided to pick up to approximately 40mph from the Nw forcing us to get close to shore and hide from the wind. In doing so we were able to land a giant 15lb lake superior king salmon! Finally around 12:30 the wind broke and it was game on landing 4 more lake trout in last hour. All in all we ended with 9 lake trout, 4 coho salmon, and a giant King.

This afternoon we had beautiful weather and hungry fish! The trip was highlighted with this very rare and beautiful brown trout! We also landed 7 coho salmon! This may is setting up to be absolutely fantastic fishing for both AM and PM trips! This Am we even landed this giant 33.5” king salmon!
