Messin' Around Fishing Charter 

We would like to thank Matt for a great morning on Puget Sound. The three of us got at least a half-dozen fish each to the boat, unfortunately many were Kings or were native Coho so we left them in the water to be caught another day. We all lost twice as many fish as we brought to the boat due to our abilities. You can count on Matt to work to his best ability to get you on fish, as soon as one area is not producing or too many natives, he is off to a new area. We brought home three nice fish that will be great eating, and are already looking forward to our next adventure with Matt. Cheers to Messin Around with Matt David, Ted & Richard

Writing a review on behalf of my husband: “Ah man we really enjoyed it. The captain was cool as hell, like hanging with one of the boys! Although we didn’t catch anything, we still had a blast. A couple of us got some bites but we weren’t able to get them up. I’d like to go in the morning next time since we did the 12-4pm this time. The captain was so nice he actually gave us some of his salmon he caught earlier in the day. 10/10 recommend this guy. “

Matt’s always a great guide to go fishing with no matter what the end result. Didn’t catch any Lings today, but had a great adventure. Highlights: epic weather, good conversations, good company, beautiful views and more! Future guests should always prepare for any weather conditions (rain, wind, waves, sun) and to remember this phrase “fishing is fishing - nothing is ever guaranteed.” Just enjoy your trip!

Overall our experience was very good. The trip was easy to book. Parking was easily aquired and free. The meeting location was very visible. Restrooms were available and clean at the marina. We caught 3 good sized salmon and 1 huge one. Watch out for the "curse of the banana." Both of my boys ages 8 and 25 had a great experience. Would recommend this trip.

What a great experience. Barely got the lines in and we already had fish on!! They kept coming the whole trip with barely any time to rest. Capt. Messing was great with the kids, being patient and encouraging them while also teaching them in the process. We hit our limit and was able to enjoy them for dinner a couple of hours later. Thanks for the memories!

Excellent captain that got us hooked up with a salmon within 5 minutes of wetting the lines. Starting off explained safety issues and then how things would go if and when we had a fish on the line. Glad I paid attention because it didnt take long! We had pur boat limit within one hour and that included loosing about 5 fish due to our limited fishing experience. Over all it was a fantastic morning of fishing.

CAPT MATT WAS SUPER COOL.. WE GOT STUCK AT THE HOOD CANAL BRIDGE AND WASN'T GOING TOMAKE OUR SCHEDULED CHARTER, HE IMMEDIATELY SET US UP THE NEXT DAY.. WENT OUT CAUGHT A TON OF KING SALMON BUT THEY WHERE OUT OF SEASON SO HAD TO RELEASE THEM🤦‍♂️. NO COHO BUT STILL AWSOME DAY . MAHALO MESSEN AROUND AND CAPT MATT...

Our captain was amazing, he knows everything about fishing and knew every time a fish was on vs a jelly fish or a just a bit. He was attentive with every bite from moving poles around to helping us with the net and resting the poles. great trip and will book with him again next year.

Started slow, then kept finding Kings we couldnt keep along with a ton of other boats trying to do the same thing. Moved up to another spot with less boats and got our Coho’s. Wish we could have hit our limit, but thats fishing.

Hit our limit, had fun, great spot, good with kids, good with adults who don’t know how to fish. Quick and observant. Was a delightful experience. Would book every time and would recommend to locals and tourists.
