Welcome to Salty Habit Charters, one of Charleston's premier fishing charters! Join Captain Justin on an unforgettable fishing experience that's sure to make memories you won't soon forget. Captain Justin is a Charleston native with fishing in his blood. Having fished these waters nearly 40 years, a growing love for being on the water, and his passion to share is knowledge, it's clear that Captain Justin was born to be a fishing guide. So, in 2017, he decided to share his affinity for fishing with others, and Salty Habit Charters was born.
Captain Justin is a USCG licensed merchant mariner, fully insured, with a lifetime of experience on the water. He has all the intangibles to operate his vessel safely and efficiently. As a member of the Coastal Conservation Association and Captains for Clean Water, Justin takes great pride in not just teaching others how to catch fish but the best practices to use in order to protect our great fishery and the importance of doing our part to keep our estuary clean.
Salty Habit Charters provides multiple charter options in order to provide the perfect fit for you.
When fishing with Salty Habit charters, you'll be aboard a beautiful 22' Sportsman Bay boat. This center console boat is powered by a 2024 Yamaha 150, and is fully equipped with the latest top of the line electronics, premium audio system, T-top, cushioned seating, endless storage(including an large cooler for your drinks), and an open platform that allows up to 7 passengers(6 guests). She is an absolute fishing machine!!
All your fishing gear is provided, which includes top brands like Penn, Shimano, Bubba Blade, gautsuyamah hooks, PowerPro braid, etc. So you'll be fishing with confidence while
enjoying an action-packed day on the water!

Awesome Trip!
3 Hour Inshore Fishing(PM) - 2:00 PM il April 25, 2026 • 3 adulti
I went with a friend of mine, and greatly enjoyed it. The captain is an awesome dude, very interactive, cracking jokes and made the slow moments go bye faster. It was pretty informative too, he made sure to tell us what we were doing and why, aswell as tips about the fishing itself. We caught about 5 fish total, it was a slower day but honestly I wouldve enjoyed the trip had we caught nothing. Overall I'm incredibly happy with the trip and will be booking more trips in the future. Would highly recomend Captain Justin.

Awesome Day of Shark Fishing with Captain Justin

Had an amazing time out on the water and caught more sharks than I ever expected. The action started pretty quickly and didn’t let up, definitely one of the best fishing days I’ve had.
Captain Justin was excellent. Super knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and made sure everyone knew what they were doing. He explained things clearly and had great insight into where to go and what to use. You can tell he really knows his stuff and genuinely wants people to have a great time.
The whole trip felt smooth and well-run. If you’re looking to hook into some serious fish and learn a bit while you’re at it, I’d definitely recommend going out with Justin. Great experience all around.

We had a great day out with Captain Justin. He was patient with our teenage boys and did a nice job teaching and guiding them throughout the trip.
We caught a mix of redfish, trout, and a flounder, and he kept us on fish most of the time. He was easy to talk to and made for a relaxed, enjoyable experience on the water.
Overall, a really solid trip and a good choice for families.

What an incredible review! Thank you, Alex. I gotta say, there wasn't any patience needed today, my friend. (except perhaps with the fish, lol) Both those young men were polite, patient, and followed instructions very well. Not to mention they CAN FISH! It was an absolute pleasure having you guys on board today and are welcome on my boat anytime! I can't wait to see how well those guys do next time, when the fish are actually cooperating!! Captain Griffin has a wonderful boat, gear , and attitude to make anyone's fishing trip sucessful! Even if we had caught no fish, the day would have been completely sucessful. Sharing a day with a very nice, knowledgeable, and competent guide on the water is really all you can ask. With that said, 2- Reds over 40 inches, several more too big to eat, only hurt my belly and not my pride! My son and I had a wonderful morning to make a lasting memory! Thanks, Captain Griffin!
