Thin Blue Line Fishing – Waukegan 20' 

If you aren't sure about booking with Thin Blue Line Charters, I hope that this review will convince you to book with them. From the time that I booked the trip, Captain Ernesto was quick to respond to any questions that I had. Before the trip even started, I was even sent a video regarding safety equipment in case of an emergency as well as an overview of the equipment if you are not familiar with fishing. The meeting location is beautiful, easy to find and in a safe location. Once arriving at the dock, I met Captain Ernesto who is very friendly and personable. Once we got settled, Captain Ernesto left before our scheduled departure time and genuinely was excited to fish. The boat was clean, the men working on deck (Max and Bryan) were fun, knowledgeable and very hard working and the equipment on board was first class. The fishing was outstanding, my girlfriend was so excited to catch lake trout and king salmon. Unfortunately, I released a few fish prior to catching them (yes, I lost them, my fault) but the crew did a phenomenonal job of finding the fish. Captain Ernesto gave us extra time to fish despite having a morning charter the next day. The fish were fileted and we took them home for dinner. We had a phenomenonal experience with a priceless sunset with the Chicago skyline in the background. Thin Blue Line exceeded all of my expectations and I highly recommend booking with them if you are fishing in Chicago.

I'm in town from Dallas for a wedding and today was the only available day I had to go fish. My buddy and I have been trying to fish here for the last two years but things kept falling thru. Finally made it out there thanks to Captain Ernesto and his First Mate Leo. They went the extra mile to overcome a few different obstacles that almost sidelined us completely. We ended up have a great time catching our first King Salmon. Got more than enough for dinner. I could go on about how hospitable and welcoming the crew was, but I smell salmon ready to eat.... We had an amazing time with Ernesto and Leo, we caught many good big fish, we had good ambiance on the big boat “Manipulator” all day and help and guidance whenever needed! Book your trip you will not regret it

Captain Ernesto is the man!!! Initial response was super quick and the follow up leading to our trip was excellent. He put me onto some of the biggest fish I have ever caught! Highly recommend you will not be disappointed can’t wait for my next trip to Chicago he will be the first call I make once I land 👍👍👍

My wife and I had an incredible experience with Ernesto. A beautiful summer evening cruise out on Lake Michigan. We arrived early and started early. Fish were a little shy at first and Ernesto kept us on the lake longer than scheduled and we starting catching a bunch of great fish towards the end. He recorded a very cool video that he sent to us first thing in the morning the following day after he edited the footage. Prices were fair and I would recommend this trip and captain to anyone.

My son John & I took the 4 hour charter with Captain Ernesto on Labor Day 2021. The boat was the perfect size for us and was loaded with all the equipment needed to catch some serious fish. And catch fish we did! We caught three good fish: a lake trout, a steelhead trout (a monster) & a King Salmon, that was dubbed a “prince” by Captain Ernesto. While Covid restrictions did not allow for the fish to be filleted dockside, my son took our catch home and will be eating fish through the winter. Thank you, Captain Ernesto, for an unforgettable trip! We’ll be sure to book you again on our next visit to Chicago! = Bill

Ernesto was very responsive and punctual. He was very engaging and had a very clean boat. He set expectations and was working hard with other charters to get locations to fish. He had a bluetooth speaker to make it a real party. We had a great time, I highly recommend his charter!

Had a great time out this morning with captain Ernesto. Glad the weather was able to hold up and the boat/equipment were perfect. We were able to hook up on multiple fish due to the experienced crew and would definitely recommend for the future!
