Had a great time with my wife and 4 yr old boy. We got into some sheepshead right away and big ones too! We had a great time trying for a few types of fish and the live bait worked great for getting some delicious sheepshead we had for lunch. Captain Bryan was great to talk to and very informative on what was working and how to fish in the environment as I and my family first time fishing in shore. Would highly recommend to anyone specially finding a captain that was great with kids. As a side note the live bait provides a great entertainment center waiting for the bites and my son had a ton to enjoy on this trip! Well worth it if your thinking of trying!
Went out on a morning that was supposed to storm. We had a little bit of rain and wind picked up - to be honest it was not the best fishing conditions but Captain bryan ferried us around expertly knew exactly where to go to so we would be sheltered AND catch the fish. He took my son 13 who fishes a lot, to different places and he caught the biggest red fish I’ve ever seen. My son was ecstatic and learned a lot from him. We had delicious sheep head fish tacos afterwards as well- double bonus!! We will be back.
We booked on short notice when our original charter canceled. Cpt. Bryan was waiting for us and rigging equipment to when we arrived and welcomed us onto his boat. We didnt quite know what to expect since there was a hurricane off shore a few days prior. Cpt. Bryan took us out to the river and, at our first stop, near a marshy area, we began to fish. First cast resulted in a catch! After bringing several speckled trout and a sheephead into the boat, we moved to another area and caught more trout. The third stop ended when we caught our limit for the day. There were also several red fish caught, but had to be released due to size restrictions. Our experience was superb! Cpt. Bryan responded to questions very quickly, usually within about 5 minutes. Our group highly recommend Cpt. Bryan Armstrong and his business, Port City Inland Guide Service, to any small group visiting the area.
Captain Bryan brought us to some great spots. We caught a bunch of fish. Definitely worth a trip if you’re looking to do your own fishing with a.”guide” if you will. He allows you to utilize his gear. And if you’re a beginner, he will definitely work with you so you can learn how to fish and cast. It was great having that one on one experience especially having just myself and my father on the boat. Very personable Captain where you’re able to talk the whole time and it wasn’t just an awkward silence. He picks you up right at the boat ramp after going out and catching some live bait to use for the day.

We went out during an incredibly hot week, unsure what to expect from fishing and being out on the water for four hours. The morning was beautiful with some overcast which helped with temps. Despite the warm weather we caught 22 fish including flounder, red fish and a speckled trout. We brought back the red fish to grill for dinner and Captain Bryan took care of filleting them. We were all relatively inexperienced fishers, but Captain Bryan was patient and thorough in teaching techniques. He knew where some good spots were for catching and moved us around which made the experience more enjoyable. I look forward to going out again, maybe in the fall when we can take home some flounder. Would definitely recommend this service for fishing at Carolina Beach!
