Before the trip he communicated what to expect, which I really appreciated. He did what he does best and put us on fish and made sure we had a fantastic day on the water. What stood out most was Rudy’s combination of fishing expertise and people skills. He knows the water well and clearly understands where to find fish, but he’s also incredibly personable, patient, and easy to spend the day with. He took time to explain his equipment, the electronics and fishing instruments on the boat, and shared his knowledge throughout the trip, which made the experience both fun and educational. I also appreciated how flexible and accommodating he was. My goal wasn’t just to catch fish, I wanted to enjoy the water, do a little swimming, and have a relaxing day. Rudy made all of that possible, and we even enjoyed a great lunch along the way. Whether you’re an experienced angler, a complete beginner, traveling with family, or just looking for a memorable day on the water, Captain Rudy is the kind of guide who can tailor the experience to your goals. I would absolutely book another trip with him and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable fishing guide.

We caught a lot of beautiful fish including a few King Salmons (one very big) and rainbow trout. It didn’t look like anyone else on the lake caught any fish. We took a celebration swim in the end while he filleted the fish. He really knows where the fish are, what they like and has top notch gear to get the job done. He’s also a pleasure to spend the day with. I’d highly recommend Rudy.

Not only did he put us on the fish, but he offers next level knowledge on all things fishing NorCal. Told me about other lakes/rivers/spots, gear, depths, time of year, best spots for certain species & Facebook groups to join to stay “in the know”. I’ve never had a guide offer so much info on a trip, willingly. And couldn’t have asked for a better guide to handle a fidgety, 13 year old that can’t sit still. Huge thanks Rudy - will be booking again in the very near future! Highly recommend Rudy to anyone looking to get out on the water & putting fish in the cooler!

Not only was he a wealth of knowledge in fishing that helped us a ton as my son is a new angler, he reminded me of my fishing days 30 years ago! What a change! As we were catching our limits by 9:30 am—we watched boats around us troll around trying to steal Rudy’s spot, with their nets just sitting in their boats, while we caught fish after fish after fish! Bottom line, he KNOWS what he is doing and how to do it! Highly recommend. Just finished dinner too, and easily the best Salmon ever!!!

My son and I spent a great day fishing with Rudy and even as it approached 90 degrees around 10 o'clock, he was always working to find us the fish..Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

Booked this trip for my husband and our son to celebrate his birthday. He is new(ish) to fishing and this was his first charter / boat trip. He LOVED it, and caught four fish (one rare & one was a huge)!! Thank you. He had a great birthday!
