Christo’s boat was unusable and he and Ilze had kindly arranged for Henk du Plessis to take us out instead. It was our first experience of deep sea fishing and whilst we only caught one fish, a couta, we had another fish eaten by sharks and a dorado get off. We also enjoyed seeing three whales, a dolphin, and some very big sharks. Henk, a SA representative fisherman, was fantastic and very patient with our inexperience. He was keen to stay out for longer! He and Christo and Ilze arranged for the fish caught by my son to be cooked for our dinner at Sodwana Bay Lodge. What an awesome meal and the best fish I’ve had in over 25 years. A great end to a memorable day. 😀

Our skipper, Christo, was excellent—not only is he a highly skilled captain, but he’s also incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the marine environment. It’s great to fish with someone who cares so much about the ocean. Highly recommended for a top-tier experience!
Christo and Ilze mad our trip very special, as ot was our first time. we caught the fish we wanted. Christo’s knowledge about the sea is fantastic as well as his skipping skills. This trip would be perfect for the whole family.
