I would recommend Captain Cody in a heartbeat! He made us feel like he really cared about getting on some fish. I had my 9 and 7 year old boys with me and he was great with them. My boys already told me if we come back to the area they want to go fishing with Captain Cody again. Even though it was a slow start and the fish weren’t hitting right away, we did catch some catfish. Captain Cody wasn’t satisfied with that. He said we were going to target sharks and that’s when it happened. We pulled in a 4ft bull shark and my boys will never forget it. They are still talking about it weeks later. He never stopped trying and that’s what we remember the most. I can’t recommend him enough. Thanks Cody! We will be in touch next time we come down.

After our original trip with another guide was cancelled due to weather, we booked a last‑minute fishing excursion with Reel Lucky for the following day — and we’re so glad we did. Cody was an incredible guide! We fished around Merritt Island, where he grew up, and his knowledge of the area, wildlife, and fish made the experience even better. He was personable, friendly, and made us feel right at home on the water. He put us on fish immediately — our very first spot was a winner. Our family of four caught 16 redfish during our 4‑hour trip, and they were an absolute blast to reel in! We had such a fun day and would highly recommend booking a fishing trip with Cody and Reel Lucky. An awesome experience all around!

This was a birthday fishing trip and Capt Cody was determined to make sure we have a great time and caught either snook or tarpoon. Capt Cody was professional, knowledgeable and so accommodating. We fished near shore and did catch snook. The tarpoon decided to play a little hide and sneak but regardless we had an amazing time. We will book again in the fall for another try at tarpoon and snook.

The reality fell short of expectation, but perhaps that is on me. I knew my guest loved fishing so decided to dedicate a day to his passion. I felt the best way to ensure success was by booking a boat and captain who had the knowledge and experience to make that happen. It didn’t. But not for lack of trying. The captain had the equipment and experience needed but perhaps my expectation of success was not realistic because the only person who hooked a fish was him. I got to reel it in but that was it. My guest caught nothing. So disappointed, yes. But that’s on me.

Even though we were new to fishing this area, we caught snook. Captain Cody was very easy to work with, and extremely knowledgeable of every nook and cranny putting us right on some big snook Great guide for new and experienced anglers.
