    Great fishing experience

We had an amazing half-day fishing trip in Cairns! Bernd was fantastic, the boat was clean and comfortable, and we caught some great fish including cod, fingermark, and a queenfish. Everything was well-organized from start to finish, and we will definitely book again when we are back in Cairns! Thank you

Queenfish are fast, hard-hitting game fish prized for explosive surface strikes and long runs. Queenfish fishing draws anglers who love visual action and non-stop speed. Talang Queenfish and Doublespotted Queenfish are the best known, and both fight far above their size.

You can target them with spinning, popping, and fly fishing. Cast metal spoons, jigs, or surface poppers and retrieve fast. A popper is a surface lure that spits water to trigger bites. Live bait fish and squid strips also work well. Use light to medium tackle and a strong fluorocarbon leader to handle abrasive strikes.

Expect sight-driven fishing in clear, warm, inshore waters like bays, flats, and reef edges. Queenfish roam in schools and often bust bait near the surface. This makes them great for first-time anglers and kids, yet still exciting for experts. Bring polarized sunglasses to spot fish, sun protection, and plenty of water. Many anglers practice quick catch and release; keep the fish in the water as much as possible.

Before your trip, check local rules for licenses or permits. Review season dates, bag and size limits, and any gear or area restrictions. Regulations change by location, so confirm current requirements with local authorities.
