    El Ultimo Minuto!

We fished hard all day but it was really slow. Captain Johnny was very encouraging and knowledgeable. On the way back in and maybe a little disappointed, Johnny made one more stop to try for a rooster. Ended up with a big one!

    (4 hour fishing pm)

    Definitely would recommend

Came all the way to costa rica to catch some fish after a 12 hour of day of nothing. Booked this charter night before in hopes of catching a rooster before heading home. Even though conditions were rough I asked to catch some rooster and they delivered!

    Awesome Trip!

Had an amazing time with King Henry! On half-day trip with daughter and son (in 20s) and on a windy day we caught 6 Skipjack tuna and 70 to 75lb Roosterfish!!! Captain Henry is an expert at his craft with a feel for the fish. Thank you for the lifetime memory!!!!

Roosterfish are a dream inshore game fish known for wild surface strikes and dramatic dorsal fins. Roosterfish fishing draws anglers who want visual action, shallow-water hunts, and tough fights close to the beach. These fish hit hard, run fast, and make every hookup feel like a trophy.

Most trips focus on inshore fishing along beaches, points, and reefs. Slow trolling or drifting live bait, like mullet or sardines, is a top tactic. Spinning and popping also work well; poppers and stickbaits spark explosive hits. Surf casting can be effective when fish push bait into the wash. Fly fishing with simple baitfish patterns is great when fish are cruising the shallows.

Expect sight-fishing chances in clear water and sudden, powerful runs. The fight is quick and intense, with sharp turns near the boat or shore. This is ideal for anglers who enjoy active casting and fast action, and it can suit beginners with guidance. Bring sun protection, polarized sunglasses, and quick-retrieve tackle. A sturdy leader helps against rough mouths. Handle fish with wet hands, keep photos brief, and release strong when possible.

Regulations vary by location and can change. Always check local fishing license and permit rules before your trip. Confirm current seasons, harvest rules, and any area closures. Your captain or local authority can advise on the latest requirements and best practices.
