Captain Joel is on the water 300 days a year, and he loves every minute of it. This highly experienced captain is a third-generation fishing captain in his family. He is a Florida native who has traveled the world in pursuit of fish. He previously worked in the death care industry for almost 20 years, focusing on childhood grief and grief counseling. He is also the co-creator of two published children's books. Captain Joel loves introducing his guests to the most epic fish, which he believes can be found right where he is from: The Gulf of America and the Atlantic Ocean!

    Fantastico charter di pesca a Marathon!

    Abbiamo trascorso una giornata assolutamente fantastica in acqua con il Capitano Brian dell'Ana Banana fishing charters. La barca e l'attrezzatura erano in condizioni eccellenti. Il capitano è stato incredibilmente gentile e disponibile con me e i miei figli adolescenti. Abbiamo pescato così tanti pesci che eravamo quasi al limite della quota consentita. Probabilmente uno dei migliori charter che abbiamo mai fatto qui. Blueridge runners, yellowtail snapper e cavalla in abbondanza. Non posso raccomandare abbastanza il Capitano Brian!! Potete star certi che la prossima volta che saremo a Marathon riprenoteremo questo charter.

    Mia moglie, i miei due figli ed io abbiamo fatto un'uscita di pesca di 3/4 giornata con loro questa mattina e ci siamo divertiti moltissimo. Anche se la pesca in sé è stata un po' lenta, il capitano e il secondo hanno fatto tutto il possibile e si sono impegnati al massimo per i miei ragazzi. Alla fine, tutti si sono divertiti tantissimo e prima ancora di aver lasciato il parcheggio, i ragazzi chiedevano già di registrarsi di nuovo con loro, visto che saremo in città ancora per tutta la settimana. Grazie mille per una mattinata davvero straordinaria!

    Un'Indimenticabile Uscita di Pesca in Famiglia con il Capitano Brian

    La nostra famiglia ha recentemente prenotato un charter di pesca a Marathon, in Florida, con il Capitano Brian, ed è stata davvero un'esperienza incredibile dall'inizio alla fine. Abbiamo prenotato l'uscita principalmente per i nostri figli, e Brian ha fatto un lavoro straordinario organizzando una giornata assolutamente perfetta per la nostra famiglia. È stato incredibilmente paziente, disponibile e coinvolgente con i ragazzi, assicurandosi che fossero parte attiva di ogni momento dell'esperienza. Dall'innesco degli ami alla spiegazione di cosa stavamo pescando, Brian ha reso l'uscita entusiasmante ed educativa allo stesso tempo. La sua conoscenza della zona e delle diverse specie ittiche era impressionante, e si è preso il tempo di mostrare ai ragazzi i dettagli di ogni pesce che abbiamo catturato, spiegando cosa li rendeva unici. Abbiamo pescato tantissimo e ci siamo divertiti da matti! Uno degli aspetti migliori è stata la semplicità dell'intera esperienza. Siamo semplicemente arrivati, siamo saliti a bordo, e di tutto il resto si è occupato lui: attrezzatura, esche e persino la pianificazione dei punti di pesca. Questo ci ha permesso di rilassarci, goderci la giornata e concentrarci sul creare bellissimi ricordi insieme come famiglia. L'esperienza e la passione del Capitano Brian per quello che fa hanno reso l'uscita davvero speciale. Ci siamo divertiti moltissimo e raccomando caldamente a chiunque visiti Marathon di prenotare un charter con lui. Programmeremo sicuramente un'altra uscita di pesca con Brian la prossima volta che saremo in zona. Grazie ancora per una giornata indimenticabile sull'acqua! (Nota: abbiamo pescato più pesci di quelli nelle foto, ma ne abbiamo rilasciati parecchi!) PS - Jeff, mio marito, dice che Brian è "Il Migliore"!

    Il Capt. Brian ci ha fatto pescare alla grande!

    Abbiamo fatto un'uscita mattutina di 3 ore con i nostri due figli (8 e 11 anni) e si sono divertiti da matti! Il Capt. Brian ha fatto di tutto per noi. Ci ha portato in 4 posti diversi e non si è arreso finché tutti non hanno preso più pesci (persino i bambini hanno smesso di contare)! Abbiamo preso cernia, mutton snapper, pesce serra, mangrove snapper e grunt. Una quantità e varietà incredibile considerato il tempo limitato. Il Capt. Brian era ovunque con tutti e quattro noi che avevamo le canne in acqua allo stesso tempo, a prendere pesci e a dover cambiare l'esca continuamente perché mancavamo le abboccate. Mio marito ed io siamo cresciuti a pesca, ma non di questo tipo, e il Capt. Brian ha avuto un ottimo atteggiamento riguardo alla nostra curva di apprendimento. Ha trovato il giusto equilibrio tra insegnamento e divertimento senza farlo sembrare una lezione, e non ha mai cercato di fare il fenomeno o di montarsi la testa come spesso fanno tante guide di pesca professioniste. La barca era pulita e ben tenuta, con tutta l'attrezzatura pronta e funzionante alla perfezione. Abbiamo tenuto un bel po' di pescato e lo abbiamo portato al ristorante Castaway, a circa un isolato dal molo, dove ce lo hanno cucinato ed era delizioso! Consiglio vivamente il Capt. Brian e Ana Banana!

    Il Capitano Brian era professionale e divertente. La giornata sembrava destinata ad essere rovinata dalla pioggia, ma lui ha detto: andiamo a mezzogiorno.     Grazie per aver regalato alla nostra famiglia la migliore esperienza di sempre! Ci hanno fatto sentire i benvenuti, e i nostri ragazzi (9 e 12 anni) hanno imparato tantissimo.     We enjoyed our fishing experience thr Ana Banana crew. This was our first time fishing in the ocean so we went with the reef/wreck option. We caught lots of fish. The crew was helpful and easy to work with. Aside from lots of snapper, we also reeled in a barracuda and a shark! My kids and I loved it!

Captain Joel's Fishin' Holes

Over the years I've written about fishing spots, fishing techniques, and how to target certain species. I've rarely written about specific Fishing products. Years ago, I wrote about Power Pole and how it was going to revolutionize the fishing industry. I bought my first Power Pole out of the inventors garage when he still had a patent pending on them. Everybody who fished inshore had to have a power pole, which, if you didn't know is a hydraulic arm on the stern of your boat that anchors you in shallow water electronically with the push of a button. Everybody wanted to buy one once they figured out that you could drift into a school of fish quietly push a button and stop your boat rather than anchoring traditionally which was loud physical and also not enviromentally friendly with traditional anchors destroying reefs and seagrass. Then everybody had to have two on their boat once they realized one would anchor you and the other would position your boat. Years before that, I wrote about a product called Bobs Machine Shop Jack Plate. Before Bobs Machine Shop jack plate all you could do was tilt your engine up and down with the push of a tilt and trim button now with Bobs Machine Shop jack plate you can jack your engine straight up and down allowing you to plane through much shallower water to get to your fishing spot. Up till now I think those two revolutionary fishing products are the only products that I've ever written about. Today I want to tell you about a new product that I think will change offshore/nearshore fishing forever. It's called the Bravo ACR LLC. Invented and patented by a local Marathon fisherman named Erick Bravo. ACR stands for Automatic Clip Return. Most offshore anglers use outriggers while trolling , kite/ballon fishing, drift fishing etc. The idea of having outriggers is keeping multiple baits separated and also keeping your baits out of your prop wash and being able to make tight turns and not tangling your baits on one another by deploying long arms port and starboard called outriggers. Allegedly the first modern outriggers were invented in Marathon Florida Keys by whom I'm not sure, however, here we are many years later, and the modern outrigger has just been reivented with ACR automatic clip return. As you know, fishing and especially offshore fishing is a game of inches and seconds. Inches and seconds matter a lot when presenting a Bait to a hungry game fish. Before ACR a captain in a Sportfisher for example would have to yell down to his First Mate, "hey Larry take the middle starboard outrigger and pull it down change your bait your ballyhoo is trashed!" Hey Larry put up your first port outrigger it's running too low." Hey Larry you have weeds on your port long bait! All day yelling at poor Larry, who has to bring multiple outriggers clips up and down all day by hand. With ACR the captain can sit in his captains chair, looking down at the cockpit and can control his entire set of outriggers with the push of a button on a little controller attached to a lanyard around his neck. No more yelling down to his First Mate to make outrigger adjustments. This not only allows the captain to have complete control of his outrigger system, but it allows the first mate to be doing other things such as rigging baits, cleaning the boat, catering to the clients etc, but most of all it saves inches and seconds. Not to mention people who fish alone or fish with novice anglers. Before ACR these captains with no First mates or experienced anglers would have to leave the wheel with the boat underway to adjust the outriggers while trolling which is not only dangerous but time consuming. This invention is the coolest invention since the electronic windless anchor or auto pilot steering. I know there will be a day in the near future when you will step on to a nice offshore boat and already know the release clips on his outrigger system is equipped with an automatic clip return. Any offshore boat that has outriggers operated manually instead of electronically will be considered prehistoric.. All of our offshore Ana Banana Boats are equips with the new Bravo ACR LLC outrigger system. On another note the fishing is great right now and will be getting better and better as we enter into springtime.
