Capt. Luis is knowledgeable in a variety of fishing techniques and targets a diverse range of inshore game fish and offshore species. His father, Captain Luis Umpierre Sr., is a former president of the Puerto Rico Sport Fishing Association and a director of over 20 successful tournaments around the island. Capt. Luis Umpierre Sr. has over 4 decades of professional experience.
Captain Kevin, a USCG MMC certified captain, joined the Bayside Fishing Charters team a couple of years ago. Captain Kevin enjoys fishing every day and he finds himself on his free days form his full time captain job taking charter trips with us. He is a fishing addict both in inshore and offshore fishing.
Captain Yorman, also a USCG MMC certified captain, recently joined Bayside Fishing Charters but has also been fishing all his life. He is originally from the west coast, where he grew up in the fishing industry since little. Captain Yorman enjoys his free days fishing and will put you on the fish!

L'abbiamo organizzata all'ultimo minuto e non sapevamo cosa aspettarci, perché siamo abituati ai charter della Florida dove si pesca un pesce dopo l'altro. Il capitano era molto cordiale e rispettoso, ci ha persino portato delle bevande per il viaggio. L'uscita è andata abbastanza bene, anche se nelle prime due ore non abbiamo preso un solo pesce né toccato una canna. Assicuratevi di voler fare una traina se usate questa compagnia. Si tratta di stare seduti ad aspettare che i pesci abbocchino, con meno coinvolgimento diretto nella pesca. Alla fine, abbiamo preso qualche Snook, un Tarpon, un jack e qualche pesciolino. Il capitano è rimasto in mare anche un po' oltre il nostro orario e ci ha portati a vedere il forte dall'acqua. È stata una giornata davvero divertente. Consiglierei questo charter, però assicuratevi che sia il tipo di pesca che state cercando, così non rimarrete delusi!

Uscita di mezza giornata (Mattina) • 2 adultiHo vissuto un'esperienza fantastica a Porto Rico pescando con il Capt Yorman Sierra di Bayside Charters. Vivo sul mare e pesco abbastanza spesso. Ho anche preso l'abitudine di prenotare un charter ogni volta che posso durante le vacanze. Detto questo, so riconoscere quando un capitano del posto sa come trovare il pesce e quando è davvero motivato a farlo. Il Capt Yorman ha fissato le aspettative e le ha mantenute in una giornata che inizialmente sembrava tutt'altro che ideale per pescare. Dopo aver perso almeno 3 pesci e quasi esaurito il filo a causa di uno squalo, siamo riusciti a portare a bordo 5 specie diverse, tra cui qualche Jack, uno Snook, una Cavalla e persino una Remora. Anche se non abbiamo visto né catturato un Tarpon, non è stato certo per mancanza di impegno. Il Capt Yorman ha fatto di tutto per farmi pescare quel giorno, lavorando in ogni modo per portarci a un Tarpon. Tuttavia, ciò che ho apprezzato di più dell'intera uscita di pesca è stato Yorman stesso: era cordiale, attento e mi ha dato quello che spero sempre di ottenere da un capitano di charter, ovvero un po' di educazione sulla pesca. Ok, quando guardate il video di me che faccio cadere il pesce, sappiate 2 cose… So pescare e NON avevo paura!! Ok quindi ho agganciato il pesce, ne ho perso uno, ma quello che ho preso stava venendo inseguito da un pesce Mostro che è saltato fuori!!! È stata la mia storia del Pesce Grosso! Oddio ci siamo divertiti tantissimo e lo rifaremo al 100%!! Mettete la crema solare (la nostra era debole, prendete quella forte)! Ha delle bevande ma portate degli snack e bevande FREDDE (un piccolo frigo portatile)! È solo un suggerimento Anche il nostro capitano è stato molto disponibile e simpatico' Spero che godiate della vostra uscita di pesca come abbiamo fatto noi Grazie ancora!!!!

Cosa abbocca con Bayside Fishing Charters a San Juan
Con il raffreddamento delle acque, lo scenario di pesca cambia. Le abboccate del Marlin blu diventano meno frequenti, mentre il Pesce vela e il Wahoo iniziano a diventare l'obiettivo principale. I Tarpon più piccoli si raggruppano in banchi dentro e intorno alla baia.

Great Fishing on Christmas Week

This week the bite has been very good. Caught plenty of snook and jack crevalle on the back channels to keep us entertained. The story of the week was the monster tarpon caught on Wednesday the 27th. After a thrilling hour and a half fight, Capt. Luis managed to catch and release a huge tarpon estimated at 85+ pounds. One of the biggest tarpon caught this year.

Hot September Bite Tarpon are biting!

September month bite has been hot! Tarpon are hungry and they are biting. This week, the high tide was the best time. We got our bait early in the morning and as soon as the high tide started coming in, tarpon were in action. Released 4 tarpon on saturday. Had two first timers and they were thrilled!

Tarpon and Snook at the Bay

Beautiful day with flat seas gave us the opportunity to do some early reef fishing to target the tasty King Mackerel and Yellowtail Snappers. To our surprise, the bite was very slow at the reef and after no action at the reef, we decided to target the tarpon and snook at the channels.
On our way back to the channels, we found a huge bait ball in the middle of the Bay and managed to fill our two livewells with a single shot. We were ready for the tarpon!
Tarpon were not rolling at the channels, but we knew they were there! 5 minutes after throwing in lines, we hook up with a huge snook that unfortunately pulled the hook after couple of minutes. They were biting!
Next drift, we hook up with a decent 6 pound snook that gave a good fight and gave us the first catch of the day.
On the next drift we were able to catch and release a decent tarpon as well.
We decided to go back to the bay to target the elusive jack crevalle to complete our Inshore Grand Slam but no luck. We hooked up with another tarpon that pulled the hook after a couple of jumps.
Overall, a successful fishing trip, happy clients and happy captain!

Tarpon, Mackerels are Kings Hot Bite

This week's fishing was lots of fun filled with lots of fishing action.
Saturday Morning went out reef fishing early in the morning before the wind picked up and caught two HUGE Mackerels with live bait. The wind picked up later and came back to target the tarpon. Jumped off a nice one after a couple of jumps. Clients took fresh fillet to a nearby restaurant "El Pescador" and had a blast.
Saturday Afternoon had a nice mixed bag action releasing a tarpon, barracuda and snappers.
Sunday Morning was filled with action. Caught 15 Mackerels and a tuna out of 25+ bites! We also had the thrill to see a HUGE Barracuda attacking two of our hooked fish. We enjoyed a couple of spectacular jumps by the barracuda on its full wildlife behavior getting its morning breakfast! Clients had a blast and took home some dinner too!

Mixed Bag Action Continues!

Mixed bag action continues at San Juan Bay. We had perfect weather during the week and were able to take our customers to do some reef fishing for the hard fighting and tasty King Mackerel. Caught nice king mackerels on our reef fishing trips including 2 over 23 pounds! Also caught a 20 pound barracuda.
The inland fishing was also good with tarpon and jack still biting. Caught nice Jacks averaging over 25 pounds and tarpon bite has slowed down a bit but they are still biting!

Fishing is HOTTT!

This past weekend, the bite was hot. We have several very successful trip with over 4 releases on each trip including a 50+ pound tarpon, 10 pound mutton snapper, a couple of 20+ pound tarpons and lots of snook releases.
Snook season is ONN!
