A renowned Musky and Walleye guide, Capt. Marc has had clients from the U.S.A, Germany, England, France, and Canada. He's a passionate angler and has won many plaudits for his work in conservation and preservation of some of the most prestigious fish in the St. Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers. A professional guide for over 20 years, he's landed at least 40 fish bigger than 50 inches. Capt. Marc collaborates in several MNRF and OMNR projects and studies concerning Muskies and Walleyes, and is a long term educator in the preservation, conservation and safe handling of fish. He was President of Muskies Canada inc., for a year in the early 2000s, and is a founding Spearhead of the first Muskies Canada chapter in Quebec, so there aren't many more qualified guides out there.

Siamo entrambi pescatori principianti e ci riteniamo molto fortunati ad aver imparato da una guida straordinaria come Marc. Ci ha insegnato moltissimo ed è stato piacevole stare con lui. Io e la mia ragazza abbiamo ciascuno preso un Musky da 48'. Quando uscite con Marc, preparatevi a pescare sodo, ne vale la pena. Raccomando vivamente Marc Thorpe

Nessun'altra esperienza si avvicina alle mie uscite annuali sull'Ottawa. Certamente non l'esperienza wilderness del Long Legged Lake o un posto festoso come LSC o Eagle. Sono a un punto della mia vita in cui pescare in acque trofeo, dove i pesci abboccano davvero, vale più di qualsiasi paesaggio. Trovo sempre l'appartamento confortevole e funzionalmente attrezzato. La selezione del cibo dovrebbe andare bene per chiunque. È vero che la scala è ripida! Sono anziano, con un braccio solo e una gamba sola. Me la cavo benissimo. In parole povere: Marc sa davvero il fatto suo e ha accesso ad alcune delle migliori acque per il Musky in tutto il Nord America (il che significa nel mondo intero). Si impegna moltissimo per farti trovare il pesce e offre consigli eccellenti su come trovarlo, agganciarlo, portarlo a bordo e rilasciarlo correttamente. Anche tu devi lavorare sodo, ma ne vale assolutamente la pena. Marc sa anche come trovare pesci GRANDI. DAVVERO GRANDI. Io e i miei compagni di pesca ci siamo divertiti tantissimo pescando con Marc, e nel frattempo abbiamo imparato molto. I suoi prezzi sono ottimi, soprattutto considerando che vitto e alloggio sono inclusi, e l'attrezzatura fornita (barca e tackle, se necessario) è di prima qualità. Uscita di 4 giorni – AlloggioVado a pescare con Marc una volta all'anno dal 2006. Sono stato lì per la pesca a lancio e più tardi in autunno per la traina. Marc è sempre riuscito a portarmi sui pesci indipendentemente dal periodo dell'anno e dalle condizioni meteo. Nell'ottobre 2014 mi ha fatto prendere il pesce di una vita, un esemplare da 58' durante la traina. A mio parere non c'è posto migliore al mondo per avere la possibilità di catturare un pesce del genere. Guardate i suoi risultati, cattura pesci così ogni stagione. È anche un'ottima compagnia per passare una giornata in barca. Ho catturato anche diversi esemplari intorno ai 50' e molti altri pesci. Se vi piace pescare i Musky, lui vi porterà su di loro e avrete una vera opportunità per un gigante autentico.

Chad Sandy and I just returned from another amazing trip with Marc Thorpe. We have been fishing with Marc since 2005, and every year we are always amazed at how special the fishery is in Montreal! We have seen so many big fish in the net over the years and this year was no exception. We generally spend 4 days in the boat however this year with the 4th of July holiday we were only able to do 3 days. On the first day of our trip it was unseasonably warm, however we had a nice breeze and the fish were very cooperative throughout the day, we boated 8 fish with several in the mid 40’s. The next day we lost our wind and the air temps soared well into the 90’s and it was a grind the entire day. By 3pm we had managed to net 3 fish, and we were starting to question if we should stay on the water or call it day. Marc made the call and we all agreed to grind away at a couple more spots before calling it. At the last spot of the day the Queen of Muskies decided to show up on what was very likely the last cast of the day. The pattern that we put together this day was that the fish were going on bucktails in a very specific size and color made by **hidden content** As we worked the last spot of the day the Queen of all Muskies decided that she wanted to eat at boat side! After 13 years of fishing the Ottawa and St L with Marc and Chad, I’m ecstatic to join the ranks of those that have boated 58” in the years past! With water temps in the mid 70’s and Air in the 95+ we got a couple of great shots both out of and in the water.
The next morning my luck continued, in the first couple of casts of the day using the same Handlebarz Bucktail we boated a very nice 51”, and later that afternoon on the same bait I boated another 51”. For me personally this was certainly my best trip based on the length of the fish that I caught, however over the years Chad and I have had several trips that yielded multiple fish in the 51” to 58” class. Muskie fishing is a ton of work regardless if you are with a guide or going at is solo, however If you’re looking for an opportunity to spend time on water that has fish up to 58” I would highly recommend that you reach out to Marc. I can promise you that he will push you to fish harder than you thought possible, but in the end you will thank him when you’re holding that fish of a lifetime! Thanks Marc.

Well another fantastic trip to Montreal in the books. Thank you Marc Thorpe! It is by far the highlight of my season. Great company, great fishing, and all around fun times! IMO best muskie fishing in the world and I highly recommend utilizing Marc's services.

This year myself and 10 team members formed a study team to extend and expand the study on the Ottawa river in which had begun in 2010 on the st Lawrence to the Ottawa river.
Along with tagging,DNA collecting and pelvic fish collection.
as the years progress ,our Aquatic wildlife management people and long with University of Laval/Louis Bernatchez will be able to draw out a portrait and genetic structure of our populations covering some 160 miles of Ottawa river AND 160 Miles of St Lawrence river
Somewhere down the line in years to come an amalgamation of info between Ny/QC and Ont will ensue generating one of the most comprehensive data gathering of 2 of the most important rivers in North America
