Captain Taco Perez has been mastering the waters of South Florida since the mid 70's. He fished for Jacks, Tarpon, and whatever else patrolled the canals and Intracoastal waterways. Taco's first boat was a 25' Open Fisherman, aboard which he explored the Ft. Lauderdale coast. Taco gained as much information as possible from local anglers, perfected his cast, and tried various techniques and fishing methods. Before he knew, people began asking him about fishing! Taco's repertoire is not limited to the waters of South Florida. He has fished all over Mexico, Venezuela, St. Thomas, and Turk, as well as the Bahamas. He has successfully taken part in various fishing competitions, including the Bahamas Blue Marlin tournament. Now, Captain Taco has his own charter business and he is loving every minute of it.

Captain Taco was great to work with, called the day prior to make sure we were all on the same page. once on the boat he made us feel like old friend, getting us on fish as soon as we hit the open ocean. Cap Taco kept us on the the fish while his mate Mac worked his @$$ off keeping lines in the water, and bates on the hooks and weed off. stop reading reviews and book with Capt Taco!

I'd recommend this charter to absolutely anyone - whether you're coming as a small group, a big group, or even with kids. Taco is the man. He's a local with a wealth of knowledge about the waters, the best fishing spots, and how to make the whole experience fun and successful. We landed some incredible fish —red snapper, mahi mahi, and amberjack-and had an unforgettable time out on the water. I'm super happy I had the opportunity to meet him and fish alongside him. It was an absolute blast from start to finish.

Uscita di pesca di mezza giornata • 4 adultiWe didn’t catch a lot of fish today (not our day..) but we got a few snappers and a big grouper so we were happy. We had to throw the grouper back so that was a bummer but its the law... Captain and his deck hand worked extremely hard to find us some fish. I have been out on charters before with not so great experience but these guys stood out and really cared to give us a good time! We all enjoyed the day on the water and I will definitely go out with Taco again for my next fishing trip.

Even though it was a rough day on the water, they still had us hooked on some fish! We had to cut our day short due to some sea sickness but had an experience of a lifetime catching two Sailfish at the same time. First mate Jack worked hard rigging and baiting our fish in 5 to 6 foot waves. My son and I would highly recommend fishing with Taco and crew!

Fort Lauderdale Deep Sea Fishing Report: May Highlights & June Forecast
May was an incredible month aboard the Hooked Up Sport Fishing off the coast of South Florida! Charter fishing has been outstanding, with an abundance of black fin tuna, sailfish, and a great start to the grouper season. While we didn’t snap too many grouper photos, we did land a gorgeous yellow edge grouper! The weather was fantastic, though the Sargasso weed gave us a few mixed days—but we adapted and kept the bites coming.

Wow, what an incredible finish to March and a fantastic start to April! Deep-sea fishing off Fort Lauderdale with Hooked Up Sport fishing.
It is truly off the charts. Our bottom fishing is producing stunning vermilion snappers, and we’re seeing an exciting uptick in Wahoo catches—the Wahoo are here, and we couldn’t be happier! Sailfish are making a grand comeback, showing up in larger numbers, and of course, the ever-popular black fin tunas are here—not huge, but ideal for the table. In a rare surprise, we even hooked a juvenile yellow fin—safely released, but what a thrill!
As spring takes off, the bite is only getting better.

Had a ball today fishing with Cory, Mark Ben, and the Golden girls. What a trip we caught a real nice mutton snapper a small mahi a big mahi over 20 pounds catch one out of two sale fish couple Bonitas great day Cory thank you so much. Looking forward to fishing again sometime soon

What a ball we had today with Luke and his friends from Canada was a bachelor party. We really wanted to catch a sale first which we did not however we did catch a 30 pound king Fish 35 pound king Fish a nice big black fan Tuna and a medium size black Fin tuna guys thanks again. It was an absolute blast fishing with you guys. Hope to see you again sometime soon.
