We had an unforgettable day on the water with Captain Lance and First Mate Fran! Captain Lance made sure we were fully prepared and answered all questions prior to the trip. Captain Lance knew all the great spots and was extremely knowable of the area and what kind of fishing we’d find in different spots. They took the time to teach them proper technique and worked with the entire time, from cutting the bit to boating the fish. The boys learned so much more than just throwing a rod in the water. They both picked up skills and memories they’ll carry with them for years to come. And First Mate Fran’s snackle box came in clutch! We had blast celebrating my dad’s birthday on the black flag fishing boat!!!! Captain Lance had us reeling in the big red drum creating memories we’ll never forget!….My 10 year son’s first fishing trip and he made sure to give him a day to remember. Captain Lance was tremendous from the communication before our trip to the day on the boat. Will definitely take another trip with him on our next vacation. Highly recommend Capt Lance!! Dan

My wife, two young (3 & 8) daughters, and brother-in-law and I went out with Captain Lance and Fran for a 3/4 day trip, and it was amazing! They met us at the dock at Oregon Inlet, helped get everyone on board and off we went! The fishing was slow to start, but they were great with the kids, teaching them about everything we were seeing and helping them enjoy the morning! We ended up catching a couple of fish in the morning and then got to ride right next to a group of dolphin on the way back. My BIL was the big winner, catching some fish after noon, which was perfect for fish tacos for dinner that night! It was the perfect day and they made it even better by Fran and Lance being so good with the kids. If you are looking for a family-friendly excursion with good people, this is the boat! We are looking forward to coming back to the beach on our next vacation and booking them again!!

On a choppy and windy day on the boat Cap. Marler still put us on some great fish. From drum to blues to flounder and trout there was nothing he couldn’t get us on with expert knowledge of the area and put us on a great 47” redfish. This is who you have to book!

Lance was was a fantastic captain he was very accommodating and made sure to run plans through the group throughout the trip. One of the best charters we have been on after coming to obx for 10 plus years. The boat and gear were in great shape. I would recommend him to anyone looking to catch fish and have a great time while in the outer banks.

Captain lance runs a great charter. The boat and tackle were top notch. We sailed all over the inlet looking for trout and drum. He is very knowledgeable and taught some beginners how to fish popping corks. We booked the 8hr which gave us plenty of time to fish all over the inlet. Everyone had a great time.

Great time fishing with Black Flag! Second year in a row did not disappoint. Captain and crew were knowledgeable, personable and flexible to our request. My daughter’s first time fishing and now she can’t wait to go again. All thanks to Black Flag!!

We couldn’t have had a better experience with Captain Lance on Black Flag. This is the type of captain you want to fish with- he listened to what we wanted(Red Drum) and put us right on the fish. We maxed out on and left happy. Safe, professional, and clean boat. Will be back down to fish with him again soon!

My son and I had the best day with Captain Lance. He is super knowledgeable and took us to some of the best fishing spots. We are planning to charter with him this summer. You will not be disappointed and he is a great captain for families of all ages.
