    very fun experience

we booked a 6 hour halibut and salmon charter and although we didnt catch halibut or salmon we did catch 3 other good sized fish and Moses was very knowledgeable, friendly and overall a good time. We want to come back in june and try again and we’ll definitely be using moses again!!!

    Another great trip

We had to come back for more action. Lamont put us on fish the whole time. We had another excellent day in LaPush fishing with KYS Outdoor Adventures.

(Full Day Trip – Rockfish Weekend)

    Fantastic fishing trip!

Captain Smitty and the crew were awesome! Not only did we limit high quality rockfish but we ALL got to catch hard fighting Bonito. One of the best charter tips I've been on. Highly recommend the Riptide for a hands down great trip.

Lingcod fishing is all about hard hits, powerful head shakes, and tasty fillets. Lingcod are fierce Groundfish with big teeth and a big appetite. Anglers target them for fast action around rocks and reefs, and for their firm, white meat that cooks beautifully.

The most common way to catch Lingcod is bottom fishing around structure. Captains often drift or anchor over rocky humps, ledges, and kelp edges. Heavy jigs and large soft plastics work well. Cut bait like herring or squid also draws strikes. Use stout rods, braided line for sensitivity, and a tough leader to handle sharp teeth. Jigging means lifting and dropping the lure to trigger a hit. Keep your lure near the bottom, where Lingcod wait to ambush prey.

Expect quick bursts of power and a strong first run. The bite often feels like a thump followed by steady weight. This trip suits beginners and seasoned anglers alike. Crews usually provide tackle and show you how to work the jig. Wear layered clothing and non-slip shoes. Bring sun protection, snacks, and a cooler for fillets if you plan to keep fish. Your crew will guide you on safe handling and icing your catch.

Regulations for Lingcod change by area and season. Always check local fishing license and permit rules before your trip. Review current seasons, harvest limits, and gear rules for your location. Some places require special release tools for deep-water fish. When in doubt, ask your captain and follow local laws.
