    (5 Hour Trip (AM) nearshore/inshore)

Great trip would recommend especially if you have kids

Capt Mike was a pleasure to fish with and very patient with our 6 year old grandson. Had bait upon arrival and recent local knowledge of where to check. Had good action and great conversation. Boat was well kept, clean, organized. I’ve done dozens of character over the last 15 years since selling my boat and this one is top qualty.

    (Half Day Trip – Inshore)

    Great day, today.

We caught 7 different types of fish today. Snook (keeper), Spanish Mackerel (keeper), Trout x 6, Gafftop Sail Cat x 2, Hardhead Cat x 4, Ladyfish, and Grouper. Was a great day dspite the wind and tide. Captain Jack is, as always, excellent.

(Backcountry 3/4 day (4 ppl max))

    Great Trip

Tides were dragging us all day but he knew all the spots to beat the odds. Came up with a 30+ inch snook, several 25+ inch barracuda, and many small fish (lizardfish, grunt, small cudas). Also helped my brother catch his first fish. Fun guy to chat with and knows a lot. Looking forward to coming back spring break!

    (Full Day Trip – Backwater)

What's better than a slot? An over slot!

Our second trip with Tarpon Tamer, and they put us on fish again! Captain Haley and Tim had to grind this morning but was able to get us on big Red's and snook, and made sure to get us on a number of snapper to bring home. As always they were great with our son. Cannot overemphasize how much fun we have fish hunting with these pros.

    (3 Hour Trip – Inshore - 4:00 PM)

First WPB Charter - Great time!

My first time chartering a boat to fish around WPB last minute and Captain Hunter killed it! Super easy, great communication, incredibly friendly, and a blast to fish and boat with! Answered all our questions, had some great chats, and put us on a ton of fish and species - highly recommend and look forward to another trip soon.

Snook are prized inshore game fish known for strong runs and sharp gill plates. Anglers love Snook fishing for the challenge, the sight of a silver flash under the mangroves, and exciting strikes in shallow water. These fish thrive in warm, protected bays, flats, and backcountry creeks, which makes trips close to shore fun and accessible.

You can catch Snook with spinning, baitcasting, or fly fishing gear. Live shrimp or small bait fish like Mullet and Pilchards work well. Many anglers also use soft plastics, bucktail jigs, and shallow-diving plugs. Look for moving water and fish the edges of mangroves, docks, bridges, and sandy potholes. Cast upcurrent and let your bait drift naturally toward the fish.

Expect a stealthy, hands-on style of fishing. Most trips happen at first light, late afternoon, or at night around lighted structure. The tackle is light, the water is shallow, and the fights are fast. This suits beginners and experienced anglers alike. Wear sun protection and polarized sunglasses to spot fish on the flats. Bring a hat, non-marking shoes, snacks, and water. A captain will provide quality tackle and coach you on proper handling.

Regulations for Snook vary by location and can change. Always check local fishing license and permit rules before your trip. Confirm whether the season is open, if harvest is allowed, and what size and bag limits apply. When release is required or preferred, handle fish with wet hands, support the belly, and return it quickly.
