Affectionately known as 'Juanga', Captain Lopez was born in La Guaira, Venezuela - a famous marlin fishing town - 38 years ago. A lover of the sea from his first day on the water, Juanga started his formal fishing career in Venezuela as a mate to Captain Dave Nolling). From this famous captain he went on to fish with another legendary Captain, Paul Ivey in Venezuela. In 1999, Juanga and his crew were recognized by the IGFA Billfish foundation as top white marlin crew.     Offshore Fly Fishing in Guatemala – Great Expirience

    All Inclusive 2 Anglers

    We fished for 4 days in Guatemala during January aboard the Makina cruiser with Captain Juanga, with excellent results and assured fun. Totally recommended.

    I have fished with Captain Gilfredo "Juanga" Lopez on Makina Sportfishing several times and He is the Best! If you want Multiple Sails and occasionaly a Marlin - This is your Captain! Friendly, Knowledgeable, and fluent in English!

    today the seas was a little roughs do to some winds coming from north from a cold front !! we raise 18 had 12 bites and release 8 !!! also our clients wanted to fish live bait with Bonitos for more then 3 hours trying to get a Marlin bite ... stay tuned !!!

    today we raise 45 had 44 bites and release 35 Pacific Sailfish ... also 4 nice mahi-mahi or dorados !!!! no doubt Guatemala is the best place to learn how to fish ... so many shots !!!

    a little bit slow today but still a great day of fishing " we get spoiled real fast when we don't see more then 20 in a day " lol lol lol today we raise 16 had 14 bites and release 7 Pacific Sailfish .....
