Snook Sportfishing en Schipper Jorge Fernandez vinden dat u niets minder dan het allerbeste verdient. Ze bieden allerlei trips aan voor elk type visser, van een paar uur iets lekkers binnenhalen tot een volledige open zee-extravaganza.

Schipper Jorge vaart met een 28' vismachine gebouwd door Game Fisher in 2008. Deze snelle boot wordt aangedreven door twee 115 PK Yamaha-motoren en heeft voldoende ruimte voor maximaal 4 gasten, de schipper en zijn dekknecht.

Het vaartuig is goed uitgerust voor een productieve dag op het water. Het beschikt over een klein toilet, 2 koelboxen, eersteklas elektronica en een leefput gevuld met aas. Tijdens uw uitstapje wordt het uitgerust met kwaliteitshengels, molens, materiaal, kunstaas en aas dat geschikt is voor uw type vissen.

Snook Sportfishing vertrekt vanuit de Herradura Bay en vaart naar de meest productieve plekken en toplocaties in de omgeving. U kunt de wateren langs de kust verkennen of 25 mijl de open zee op en zelfs tot 40 mijl uitvaren indien nodig.

Uw technieken voor de dag variëren van licht en zwaar materiaal vissen tot trollen, jiggen, spinvissen, bodemvissen en popping. Met Zeilvis, Marlijn, Snapper, Tonijn, Tandbaars en Goudmakreel allemaal onder de populaire vangsten, is het moeilijk om weerstand te bieden aan een trip of twee!

De bemanning regelt uw visvergunningen en pakt wat snacks of een lichte lunch in. Kortere trips zijn inclusief ananas en watermeloenen, terwijl de langere trips broodjes aan boord hebben. Bovendien wordt alle vis die u mag houden aan het einde van de dag schoongemaakt, zodat uw diners geregeld zijn!

Best captain ever!

3/4 Day Trip op May 31, 2026 • 4 volwassenen

Jorge and Enrique were amazing. 15 minutes in we caught a yellowfin tuna. Was slow after that for a couple hours and Jorge got news of fish 6 miles away and took us for an extra hour. Unfortunately didnt catch anything there but a couple hours later we landed a 110lb sailfish. No activity after that and were slightly disappointed as only 2/4 of us landed fish. As we were heading back Jorge thought he spotted a school of mahi and out of nowhere we turned towards it and everybody landed fish. We ended with 1 yellowfin a sailfish and 5 mahi. Truly the best captain we could’ve gotten. Very accommodating good snacks (amazing sandwhiches) and hospitality. Best captain ever!

3/4 Day Trip op December 27, 2025 • 2 volwassenen

Captain Jorge and his mate made a great day for us. We were hoping to do some trolling for billfish and then switch to hopefully catch ourselves something to eat for the rest of our trip. We got out early and within the first hour we hooked into a blue marlin! I'm certain we would have caught more billfish if that marlin hadnt taken my fat ass nearly an hour and a half to get to the boat. Thankfully the boys stepped in for a break or two. 

Captain Jorge has a network of buddies on the radio and shortly after making our decision to go chase some yellowfin, he had us on a school and it was nonstop action pulling them out of the water when we got to them fornthe rest of the trip. We stopped for shishimi on the way home. Amazing!

All said, the experience was everything we hoped it would be. The boat was comfortable with plenty of space and plenty of rods. The snacks and drinks on board were plentiful and tasty. 

10/10 totally recommend these guys.

Full Day Trip op February 10, 2026 • 4 volwassenen

Captain Jorge and his first mate, Enrique didn’t dissapoint. We headed out 25 miles looking for some sail fish. They were a little hard to find this week, so we quickly transitioned to tuna and they got us in the fish quickly. We chased schools and they found them. Ended the day with 4 in the boat, including one that took almost an hour to land, lost several others and had five break off. This man knows what he is doing and works hard to put you on fish. By the time we headed back, we were 45 miles out. We had a great time.

Another amazing Trip with Snook Sportfishing

This is our second time fishing with Captain Jorge, and we will definitely be booking him again next time we come down to Costa. The Captain and crew are very professional, and go out of there way to make sure everyone is comfortable and having a good time. Most importantly, these guys can fish! We landed one Sail and lost another (my fault) plus we also caught 6 Yellowfin Tuna and had fresh sashima for the ride in. It was a perfect day on the water and we look forward to next year.

Absolutely Amazing Adventure

Our half day trip with Snooks Sportfishing was absolutely amazing!!  Our goal was to catch our first sailfish, and we did!!  Captain Jorge and his mate were very attentive to finding the fish and getting us hooked up.  He asked what our goal was and made sure we accomplished it.  As anyone should know, fish are never guaranteed, but this captain is going to give you a solid chance.  If we make it back to Costa Rica, we will book with Snook!!  We highly recommend him.
