Day 2 Change of Species

Some trips are all about covering miles. This wasn’t one of them. While helping Capt. Travis Miller with another great crew, we found what we were looking for at our very first stop. The trout weren’t biting every cast, but they kept coming steadily enough that there was never a reason to leave. About two hours later, the crew had 45 speckled trout in the box, all from the same location. Days like this are a good reminder that patience can be just as important as finding the fish. We had a great crew, a steady bite, and another successful morning in the Louisiana marsh.

Day 2 was all about earning every fish. We focused exclusively on redfish, but they weren’t giving themselves up easily. It was one of those days where every move mattered. We covered water, made adjustments, stayed patient, and never gave up. That persistence paid off. By the final stretch of the trip, Steve and Nick had put together a full limit of redfish. Honestly, those are some of my favorite days as a guide. When you have a crew that’s willing to stay positive and keep fishing, it’s incredibly rewarding to see everything come together in the end. Steve and Nick, thanks again for another great couple of days. I appreciate your continued trust and can’t wait to do it again.

Day 1 was a special one. One of my longtime returning guests, Steve, was back for another trip, and this time he brought his son, Nick Bekeleski, along for his first experience fishing the Louisiana marsh. I always enjoy introducing someone new to what makes Sportsman’s Paradise so special, and Nick picked a great day to join us. The puppy drum were fired up, keeping us busy most of the morning, and we added a couple of nice redfish to round out the trip. Steve, thank you for the many years of support, friendship, and trust you’ve placed in me. Repeat customers like you mean more than you know, and it was a pleasure spending another day on the water with you and Nick. Looking forward to the next trip!
