Calm Seas & Striped Marlin Success at La

On July 23, we departed Cabo San Lucas at 11:30 AM and set a course of 240°. By 12:00 PM, our trolling spread was in the water, fishing a combination of rigged natural baits and trolling lures. We worked that heading for about an hour without any action, so we changed course toward Cabeza de Ballena, trolling approximately 4 miles offshore in search of more productive waters. The move quickly paid off. About 3 miles off the First Rocks, a striped marlin aggressively struck one of our baits. After an exciting fight, we successfully brought the fish close enough to grab the leader, but just as we were preparing for the release, the marlin made one final powerful run and threw the hook, swimming away strong. We continued fishing the area for the remainder of the trip but didn’t receive any additional bites. What an incredible 4-hour fishing trip aboard ADRENALINA! We started the morning by heading toward the 95 Spot, where we searched for offshore activity before making our way toward the Lighthouse. On June 4, we departed Cabo San Lucas heading south. At approximately 3 miles offshore, a striped marlin aggressively struck the rigger bait, but after the initial hookup, it crossed the line and broke free, costing us the fish. We then changed course west and continued fishing off the Diamante area. About 4 miles from shore, another striped marlin attacked the rigger bait. This time, after a great fight, we successfully brought the fish alongside the boat and released it in excellent condition. On the run back toward Cabo, while working the 3-mile line, we had one final encounter with another striped marlin that aggressively followed the trolling lures but refused to commit.
