Schoolie Stripers on Sacramento River

Spent the morning searching for some river run King salmon. We ran through our normal areas and routine and still haven't found them to be pushing in heavy yet. We heard of at least 1 caught nearby, but there were only a few other boats in the area near us. Water temps are still 71-73°. We are getting another full moon soon, which will push more fish into the system afterwards. We spent the afternoon looking for some Stripers and found about 20 smaller sized fish and a bonus catfish on cut baits. We will be back out again this Friday for another search for the kings and will post our findings afterwards.

50th fish catch in the 50th state! 19 year journey to catch a fish in ask 50 states and we were the last stop. 102° day, 74° water temps and we brought 7 Stripers and 4 Catfish to the boat, all released.

Another 94° day with 73° water temps in our area. Spent the day looking for more early season salmon. Allot more boats on the water today than 2 days ago in our area. We marked some stacked schools in several areas. We ran the usual patterns of trolling scorpion salmon spinners and hooked one shaker striper. We continued searching our regular areas and fished for Stripers and Salmon with deep diver stick baits and scorpion salmon spinners. Once we marked some stacked fish, we dropped p line laser minnows on them, but no takers. Switched over to some cut bait fishing on anchor and started hooking more shaker Stripers right before the end of the small outgoing tide. Our morning tides this week are small and bigger 3 to 4 foot tides are in the evenings. We will be off the water for 2 days and back on another charter Sunday. We will report back on the findings for that day.
