X-Spearmint Sportfishing 

Booked a 1/2 day outing and from the bet there was great communication from the skipper. If not for his follow up messages we would’ve missed our trip since I had the days wrong! We left the dock on time on an excellent vessel and along the way the captain let us know what we could expect due to conditions. We were prepared to have a slow day but once at the spot we started catching fish immediately. He gave great direction and had us fighting fish in no time. We caught lots of Spanish mackerel and bluefish. He got us a great guy to meet us at the dock and clean our catch, too. Great day, great trip. Will definitely book again and highly recommend Captain Ryan and the X-Spearmint!

Our group caught more ribbonfish than we could count! We brought them home and cooked them up for dinner and everyone loved it. Capt Ryan put us on the fish right away. He clearly knew the area well. The boat was the perfect size for our group of six. Everyone was comfortable. All the equipment on the boat was up-to-date and easy to use. The boat was very clean. Our group had so much fun! I would highly recommend this charter!

What a great experience you'll have! Boat and Captain are awesome, and both one of a kind. We enjoyed the trip out through Oregon Inlet jamming to Jimmy Buffett. Capt put up right on the fish and was so quick and attentive when we had a fish-on. He was extremely knowledgeable of the waterway, and was delighted to teach us about what we were fishing for, why we were fishing with the tackle he provided, and even how all of the electronics work. What a great experience! I highly recommend this trip! Make yours quick before I rebook!

We had a very pleasant trip with Ryan. We were on the smaller boat but that wasn't an issue at all. We started with a nice ride out of the sound to the sea. Ryan was great about explaining the equipment and was quick to see when we had fish on. Often times seeing it before we did even though we were watching closely. Ryan also had some super comfortable beanbag chairs to rest in! We started trolling for Mackerel and then switched to Ribbon fish. I was amazed at the number of fish we ended up with. 2 Mackerel and 18 Ribbon. I'd never seen ribbon fish before, they are very interesting almost prehistoric but beautiful. Ryan suggested that these would be great for fish tacos and wow were they ever! I was really impressed. I would recommend Captain Ryan for anyone who's looking for a great day on the water. He really made the entire experience. Thank you Ryan!

We did the 9 hour charter. It was the best charter I’ve ever been on by far! Ryan put us on fish all day long! The whole trip we had fish every few minutes! Will definitely be back for sure! Very professional and courteous! Answered any questions we had about fishing and the area with incredible knowledge of the of both! Couldn’t ask for a better day on the water! Can’t say enough great things about it!

Took close friends on a fishing trip for the first time on the ocean. They both were really excited to go and even though the fishing was a little scarce they loved it and had a great time. Captain Ryan did a great job and even called me to move our trip up a day since some weather was coming in. That spoke volumes to me about him. Will definitely be back for another trip with Ryan. Highly recommended.

Captain Ryan was great. We are not professionals by any stretch. But Ryan was so knowledgeable and had us on the fish as soon as we got out on the water. We caught are max on the sound side. It was slow out at sea but the water Temps was still a little cold. But Captain Ryan did everything he could to try to get us on the fish. I will be reaching out to him the next time we come down and his boat and equipment was top notch.

Great time fishing. Captain Ryan was fantastic. Put us right on the ribbon fish first thing. Every time the line went out within a min we were reeling it in. Caught 30+ in no time. Then we went for Spanish and that was more catching then fishing. Wow!! Cap put us on the meat!! It was our first time out with no experience and Cap was awesome. Showed us how to do everything. Couldn’t have asked for a better Captain. The boat was awesome and fast. Really not a bad thing to say. We will be booking again for next year!! Thanks Cap for an awesome day!!!

We had an amazing day on the X-Spearmint. We targeted Ribbonfish and Mackerel. The kids had a blast and we can’t wait to eat what we caught. The Captain adjusted our time to make sure he got us out before the weather got too bad.

What a morning. Captain Ryan’s charter is top notch. His boat is immaculate and very well appointed. Ryan is very outgoing, knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Very nice to talk too. Excellent experience for my wife who never fished before. Ryan makes you feel right at home and will do anything to put you on the fish . I would highly recommend a charter with Ryan.
