    Great Day on the Sound

    Booked a 1/2 day outing and from the bet there was great communication from the skipper. If not for his follow up messages we would’ve missed our trip since I had the days wrong! We left the dock on time on an excellent vessel and along the way the captain let us know what we could expect due to conditions. We were prepared to have a slow day but once at the spot we started catching fish immediately. He gave great direction and had us fighting fish in no time. We caught lots of Spanish mackerel and bluefish. He got us a great guy to meet us at the dock and clean our catch, too. Great day, great trip. Will definitely book again and highly recommend Captain Ryan and the X-Spearmint!

    Four hour near shore trip

    First time for my family trying this type of trip. Have been coming to the outer banks for years a kept saying "we should try that.". This year we finally did. We were very pleased. The captain knew we new to this. He took the time to explain the equipment, talk basic fishing strategy and overall tactics. He likes what he is doing and it comes through in his actions. The boat is clean, well maintained and he really knows how to operate it. He found fish for us without any problem. Ribbon and mackerel. He knew the waters. Saw an 1800's ship wreck and other area history. Sea turtles and dolphins filled in the time between fish on. He even told us about the Air force and Marine jets flying over. My oldest wanted to know about the engines and navigation equipment and the captain was willing to answer all his questions. Overall, this was a really pleasant trip. We learned, we had fun and we caught a fair number of fish. I will recommend this boat and captain to my friends.

    Captain Ryan was amazing. He really knows his stuff. The boat was excellent and comfortable all around. Excellent trip. Definitely do it again next time we’re here.

    Our group caught more ribbonfish than we could count! We brought them home and cooked them up for dinner and everyone loved it. Capt Ryan put us on the fish right away. He clearly knew the area well. The boat was the perfect size for our group of six. Everyone was comfortable. All the equipment on the boat was up-to-date and easy to use. The boat was very clean. Our group had so much fun! I would highly recommend this charter!

    We had an amazing day on the X-Spearmint. We targeted Ribbonfish and Mackerel. The kids had a blast and we can’t wait to eat what we caught. The Captain adjusted our time to make sure he got us out before the weather got too bad.

    Our group did the 3/4 day trip. Ryan had us into fish almost as soon as we started and we caught much more than we ever expected. Ryan is a knowledgeable and friendly captain. I recommend him and his boat for OBX fishing.

The Spanish fishing is going off right now. There have been numerous days of close to limit fishing. The fish are great eating and really fun to catch. Some of our catches have had a very nice size class of fish as well. Book your trip now!!
