Captain Bernie Lefebvre is a native of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, brought to the area via his father's military assignment. The opportunity to grow up on the waters of the Emerald Coast allowed Bernie to gain both knowledge and experience. His passion for fishing began when he was a young boy, when he went fishing with his Dad and friends. In 1984, Bernie worked with a friend and his father for a Destin charter boat business. While in college, Bernie worked as a deckhand and dreamed about starting his own company, which he did after 15 years of working in the Information Technology field. Captain Bernie has taken part in various fishing tournaments, where he became a big fan of offshore trolling. For Bernie, the greatest thing about fishing is the excitement and fun it can provide to people of all ages!

    Dont listen to the previous reviews complaining about a grumpy caprain. The only time we/you interact with the captain is starting the trip while he explains things and again at the end when he thanks you. He is up on the bridge driving the boat the entire time trying to find the best fishing spots. The first mate was incredible and very patient even after having to repeat instructions over and over. The back of the boat is covered which helps with the sun as well as providing hand grabs if the swells get big. We caught plenty of fish and made wonderful memories. Id go with this crew again tomorrow if time allowed.

    This was our annual girls trip. we picked Destin to spend sometime at the beach. My son and his buddies had been fishing with the Windealker II crew & caught the heck out of fish. So we decided to book a trip. We had a great time. Captain Berno found great fishing spots. Mark the deck gand was very patient with us. We weren’t very good at reeling them in but got lots of bites. It was alot of work but also we had fun doing it. We ended up with nine fish. Not to bad for two old ladies 🤣🤣. I would highly recommend booking a fishing trip with the Windwalker II crew.

    Captain Bernie put us on the fish

    Highly recommend!! We had a group of 12 on July 1 for an afternoon 5 hour charter. We caught some fish trolling on the way out and a lot more once we started hitting individual spots. We caught red snapper, grouper, spanish mackerel and several other kinds that were out of season and we tossed back. The First Mate Mark was great with everyone and taught us how to use the rods and baited hooks very quickly, as most of us had never been out deep sea fishing before. Thanks Bernie and Mark!

    Family trip

    Great time, captain and crew were great and very experienced. They warned us before hand about times being not very good time to catch fish. However we were still able to catch plenty of fish and have a great time for all of the group. Mark made sure we all had plenty of bait and knew how to bait the hooks and how to operate the poles for all the first timers. Overall 10 out of 10.

    Fun Family Fishing Trip

    We had a great time catching lots of fish, different varieties and sizes. Once at a spot, if we weren't catching within a few minutes Captain Bernie would move us to another spot so we had better chances at success. Bernie and Mark were friendly and very helpful when it came to instructing us on technique. It was a great and memorable trip. And we got to eat amazing fresh fish for days afterwards!

Big 23.4 lb Sow Red Snapper and More

1st day of the 78th annual Destin Fishing Rodeo. Luck was with us. One of our welder friends from Alabama scored Sow 23.4lb Red Snapper, some other regular Red Snappers, and Mingo Snapper. Rather be lucky than good.

Weather is hot, but a perfect calm day on the Gulf for fishing. Our from West Tennessee had an enjoyable time catching Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Triggerfish and Bonita.

Rough Gulf Trip — Nice Red Snapper Bites

The wind was up and Gulf was rough. Trip was cut short ??. Only fished a couple places, but had some nice Red Snappers bite, also some throw back Triggerfish and Amberjack.

Return Customer taking grandsons

Had a regular customer taking his grandsons out for their 1st trip. Had much success with trolling catching some Spanish Mackerel and Bonita. They had a blast. They were even leadering their fish and bringing them in the boat themselves by time we were done. Great experience for them. 8/29/26.
