CL Guide Service and Captain Gabe invites you down to North Padre island to explore some of the best inshore spots in the area and experience the unique flair of South Texas. Whether you're in search of some great eating fish or just want to catch some big Reds on a fly, look no further! The captain lives and breathes South Texas and will take you around all the best spots he's discovered on his countless adventures.
Your boat for the trip will be a 20' Everglades bay boat, powered by a 150 HP Yamaha outboard. The boat has been restored in 2017 and comes equipped with onboard electronic systems for navigation and communication as well as a fishfinder to help you locate schooling fish. The vessel is also equipped with all the necessary safety equipment as well as an icebox and live bait tanks.
The captain will provide you with all the necessary fishing gear for the trip including Penn spinning reels and Shimano baitcasters. For fly fishing trips you can either bring your own equipment or have him bring it for you. Any live bait you may need for the trip will also be taken care of by the captain ahead of the trip. You'll be able to try your hand at different techniques including drift fishing, jig fishing, and using a popping cork for Speckled Trout and Redfish.
The things you should bring are a small or medium-sized cooler with your choice of drinks and snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. After you've checked off those items, you'll be ready to come and start your next adventure!

Rain the night and early morning churned up the bay so not ideal this trip. That said. Captain Gabe was awesome! We tried multiple spots of both drifting and with anchor to change our luck. Will definitely go again with him during snapper season!
Enjoyed the morning on the water with you and your family, hopefully the weather conditions will be better on our next trip.Thanks for booking with me , see you all soon!!
Gabe provided a fun filled day of fishing. Even though we didn’t catch more than one keeper we still caught fish, saw dolphins and got to see a lot of the Laguna Madre. Due to his unwillingness to end our day without at least one keeper he provided extra time. He is very good with first time ocean anglers and really good with children. We will see Gabe again in the future either with adult friends or other children and grandchildren.

I have fished most every type of water from the East Coast to the West Coast, Alaska and the Rocky Mountain lakes and rivers of Colorado and Wyoming and found Captain Gabriel Escobar an invaluable resource when fishing the Texas coast. He made fishing for everyone in our group from the first timer on the ocean to the most experienced a truly memorable experience. We caught several species including spotted trout and lady fish. Captain Escobar took the time to contact us several days prior to our trip to advise us of incoming weather and suggested we change our schedule, which ended up saving our trip from an incoming storm. cf
Gabe was a great guide, he got us on the fish fish and was a pleasure to be around. Myself and my 2 other friends all caught fish and would have had a good time even if we didn't.
