Capt. Jay has been a Hilton Head Island resident for over 30 years and knows all there is to know about these waters. He's a patient and knowledgeable man who loves to take out families and teach them about the local fisheries and the importance of preserving them for future generations. Come aboard and learn more than just fishing!
You'll fish aboard an established charter boat – a 31' Morgan offshore sportfishing vessel. This spacious and comfortable boat will get you to the productive grounds safely using a GPS and a fishfinder, and comes equipped with all the safety and electronics needed. Up to 6 guests are welcome aboard to make yourselves at home, taking advantage of the amenities, including a toilet.
Choose between the nearshore and offshore waters off the southern tip of Hilton Head Island, and into the rich waters around Daufuskie and Tybee Islands. On your way to the fishing grounds, you'll get to see some dolphins that call these waters home, as you discover the beauty of South Carolina's waters.
Depending on when you come, you'll have a vast array of fish to target. Between November and April, you'll mostly be bottom fishing for Seabass, Triggerfish, Grouper, and Snapper. During the summer months, you'll have the option of trolling for King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and other species. Alternatively, you can target a variety of tasty bottom dwellers on what promises to be a thrilling day out.

Captain Jay and Lucas make a great team! Our group included me, and three young teens. My kids and I had been out before, but my daughter's friend had never been on a boat. We told Captain Jay we were up for anything and had them take us where they thought we'd have the most fun. They made our trip relaxing, easy, and fun! Everything we needed was ready to go, the boat was comfortable, and we started catching almost immediately. With Lucas's help, my son was able to reel in a massive drum fish (45lbs maybe). My son has an exciting story to tell and a memory to last a lifetime. My daughter kept reeling in small sea bass; we lost count after 20. I would highly recommend going out with Captain Jay if you are looking for an enjoyable experience. When we are back in Hilton Head, we will definitely be booking again!

Captain Jay and his mate Lucas were very friendly and accommodating to whatever we wanted to do. From trollling for Spanish Mackerel to bottom fishing for sharks, the half day tour gave a nice variety of experiences with a nice end of having our haul freshly fileted for us to enjoy later. Highly recommend this for anyone else looking for a fun/laid back experience.
capt.Jay and deckhand Lucas were very nice people! plenty of seats in the shade older boat with good room for six of us. Would recommend bringing windbreaker or sweatshirt as very sunny day but cool when moving we only caught a miniature starfish lol but had a fun day and were greeted by Gary the dolphin as we were trying to maneuver into the slip on a windy afternoon! Thank you guys!

Great day on the water, Capt Jay and First Mate Brad were very accommodating to our teenage anglers. Active nearshore fishing taking Blues, Spanish Makerel and several sharks in just 4hrs. Thank you again Captain Jay

Captain Jay and Lucas were tried very hard to get us on some fish. Although the fish were playing hard to get, we had great conversation and learned a lot about Hilton Head Island. The dolphins that followed the boat the whole way home definitely made it worth the trip! If we ever make it back to Hilton Head, we will be calling Captain Jay for a charter.
