There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, Sheepshead, and more if you cast your line at the right time of year. On the day of your trip, you're likely to spin using light tackle.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. You're welcome to bring snacks to keep your stamina going!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 25' JH OutlawCenter console with space for 5 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are included. Live bait is available for a fee.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and a Hat. There will be some drinks water, soft drinks, and Gatorade, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Stacks & Stringers!

We spent Father’s Day weekend fishing in Matagorda with Capt. Jeff and Morgan, and it was an outstanding trip. Even though it rained off and on during the day, they never let the weather dampen the experience. They worked hard to keep us on fish and made sure we got the most out of every minute on the water. We caught fish, shared plenty of laughs, and made memories that will last a lifetime. Capt. Jeff and Morgan were knowledgeable, professional, and fun to spend the day with. Their positive attitude and dedication turned a rainy day into an unforgettable Father’s Day weekend adventure. If you’re looking for a great fishing guide in Matagorda, we recommend booking a trip!

Jeff and Joe were attentive to our 3 generation novice anglers. Baited our lines, netted and identified our catch. There was water and Gatorade for hydration. Conversation was good… best was watching my grandson smile during the experience. Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen! You can’t go wrong with Captain Jeff and Joe.
It was such a great time out with you and your family. Everyone had a great time and we had laughs and new memories. Please reach out when your ready to go fishing again.
capt jeff had a emergency so his partner capt morgan took us out he showed up and showed out put us on fish had laughs was very informative on tackle techniques and much more he helps you bait cast and take fosh off as needed checked on my mother multiple times as she was just along for the ride really made us feel at ease

My wife and kids had a great time. The captain had us on the fish all day and was great with my young kids. Reds, black drum, and speckled trout almost every cast. Tons of fish in the cooler to bring home. Best Tx coast fishing trip we ve ever been on! We can’t wait to visit again for our next trip.
Captain Jeff made a memorable trip for my daughter whos never fished in the ocean he made sure she was taken care of at all times and he put us on fish where she got to set the hook
