Great trip, Captain Kevin and First mate Ryan were excellent, with the adults and the kids. My 4 year old can't wait to go again. When the first spot was a bust we headed for another, second spot we each only made one cast, when they realized it was covered in red algae we moved, no hesitation. Last spot prduced an eater sharp nose shark, and a bunch of baby sharp nose, along with a black tip too small to keep but still the biggest shark I've ever seen, a couple whiting, and a small eater bonet head shark. Awesome experience overall will definitely be fishing with second wind again, can't wait to come back.

We just wrapped up an absolutely incredible fishing trip with Second Wind Charters, and I can honestly say Captain Kevin exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we stepped on the boat, it was obvious we were in the hands of someone who truly knows the water and takes pride in giving his customers an unforgettable experience. Captain Kevin was an absolute rock star the entire trip. His knowledge of the local waters around Edisto is second to none, and it seemed like every move he made put us right where the fish were. We weren’t just riding around hoping for luck—he consistently had us on fish and kept the action going. Beyond his skill as a captain and fisherman, what really stood out was how hard he worked to make sure everyone had a great time. He was patient, professional, easygoing, and made the entire trip feel effortless and fun. What impressed me most was how smooth and organized everything was. The equipment was top-notch, the boat was clean and comfortable, and Captain Kevin handled every detail so we could simply relax, fish, and enjoy the day. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that passion makes all the difference. If you’re anywhere near Edisto and thinking about booking a fishing trip, stop looking and call Second Wind Charters. Whether you’re an experienced fisherman or just looking to make great memories on the water, Captain Kevin is the guy you want leading the trip. We’ll absolutely be back.
We have experienced many chartered fishing trips and we have to say, this one hit it out of the park! The captain and crew were very hands on with us and provided a safe and fun trip. We were able to see two species of dolphins on our way out and the captain stopped so we could observe them for a bit. We saw a sea turtle which was also exciting. We caught lots of fish of nice variety; trigger, grunts, sea bass, ring tail, amber jack, red snapper, and cobia. We highly recommend Captain Kevin and crew. You will not be disappointed.

Kevin was great! Got us on the fish and kept us on the fish all day! We kept him busy baiting hooks and taking off fish! We caught everything - several species of grouper, triggerfish, grunt, lots of “bait fish,” a soap fish, a few I dont remember and even lamprey eels (yuck!). We highly recommend Second Wind Charters and plan to use them again in the future.
Capt Kevin and his wife Carrie (part-time) 1st mate, are absolutley some of the greatest people we have ever fished with! Hand down best charter in the area for families or the Avid fisherman!! I have fished with a lot of charters in diffetent localities and i promise you cannot find better people to spend the day with, we caught a lot of fish, and they worked really hard at putting you in the fish you want to catch! Can’t say enough good about this Charter. We made some great friends and memories. JUST BOOK IT!
