Make an adventure out of your next trip in Placida/Englewood Florida and go fishing with Florida Gulf Adventures. Your guide for the day is Captain Jon, which allows you to benefit from years of fishing experience.
Around here it’s common to catch Red Drum(redfish ), Snook, Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, sharks, and more depending on the time of year. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself fishing with heavy tackle, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your trip begins aboard a 26’ Sea Hunt center console with room for 6 passengers. Everything you need for a productive day on the water is supplied. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Jon will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. It’s customary to tip the Mate 15–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and a hat. Please bring a cooler with any Drinks and snacks you may need. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid glass bottles.

Great fishing trip on a very windy day. Captain Jon took us to a spot where the fishing were biting. Super friendly guy and very skilled in his trade. Jessica, the first mate was very attentive and helpful in baiting and unsnagging lines. I highly reccomend a trip with him.

We had a great time with Captain Jon! Great communication! So helpful and patient! We caught Snook, Red Drum, Trout, and Mangrove Snapper:) He filleted them all to take home :) We will definitely be back to go out with Florida Gulf Adventures again!!
