    (8 Hour Trip)

    Excellent experience!

My guide John was very experienced. He delivered on all promises and I really enjoyed fishing with him. He provided all the gear and assisted you througout the process. I highly recommend him if you want to make memories that last. Another thing, the lunch offered on the trip was fantastic, Pad Thai (chicken or prawns).

    Great charter

We had a brilliant charter and although there is never a guarantee of catching any fish Flo persisted with change through the trip doing his best to ensure we ended up with the best return possible. We were fortunate enough to bag a good catch. Would highly recomend giving it a go 🎣👍

    Barra Thursday birthday adventure

Floran was super knowledgeable with the fishing location and local knowledge for the day. The trip was planned in the dry season so conditions were hard for the bigger Barra but we still walked away catching 29 Barra 2 Saratoga and 3 catfish with a blistering pace on the morning bite including a triple hook up with us encouraging Floran to get in on the action also. Plenty of wildlife was seen on the Mary river with photo ops of large crocodile, buffalo, native birds and amazing landscapes.

Barramundi fishing is all about power, patience, and explosive strikes. Barramundi, also called Asian Seabass, are prized game fish known for big hits and strong runs. They thrive in warm, inshore waters like mangroves, estuaries, and tidal rivers. Anglers love them for surface strikes, tough fights, and great photo moments.

You can target Barramundi by river fishing and inshore fishing around structure, such as snags, rock bars, and creek mouths. Casting is most common. Use hard-body minnows, soft plastics, and surface lures that make a splash. Live bait like mullet or prawns also works well. Fly fishing with large streamers can be effective when fish are feeding near the surface. Slow your retrieve, pause often, and cast tight to cover.

Expect fast action at dawn, dusk, and tide changes. The fight is strong, with head shakes and sudden jumps. This suits beginners who want guidance and seasoned anglers seeking a challenge. Wear sun protection and polarized sunglasses to spot fish and hazards. Bring a hat, water, and a camera. Use strong leaders and check knots often. Handle fish with care and watch the sharp gill plates. A quick photo and smooth release help keep the fish healthy.

Rules vary by location. Always check the local fishing license and permit needs before your trip. Look up season dates, open areas, and harvest rules for Barramundi. If you plan to keep fish, confirm size and bag rules where you will be fishing. When in doubt, ask a local authority and follow catch-and-release best practices.
