Catfish fishing in Oklahoma, United States is all about big fights, simple tactics, and tasty rewards. The state holds healthy numbers of Blue Catfish, Channel Catfish, and Flathead Catfish. Warm summers, winding rivers, and large reservoirs create perfect Catfish habitat. That means steady action for anglers of all ages.

You will target Catfish with river fishing and lake fishing. Bottom fishing is the go-to method, using cut bait, shad, or stink baits. Drifting baits along drop-offs works well on big reservoirs. At night, Catfish feed more, so many guides offer evening trips. Some anglers try hand fishing, called noodling, where allowed. Your captain will explain each technique and keep things safe and simple.

Most trips run on roomy boats with plenty of space for the whole family. Rides are short, and you will spend most of your time with lines in the water. Expect strong pulls and patient waits between bursts of action. Bring sun protection, a hat, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing. Your guide will usually provide rods, reels, and bait. Ask about keeping fish, as many trips can clean your catch at the dock.

Across the state, broad areas shine for Catfish. Popular waters include the Red River and Arkansas River systems, plus Lake Texoma, Lake Eufaula, Keystone Lake, Kaw Lake, and Grand Lake. Smaller municipal lakes and farm ponds also hold solid Channel Catfish. If you are near Oklahoma City or Tulsa, you are never far from productive river fishing and large reservoirs.

Before your trip, check current Oklahoma fishing rules. Review license and permit needs, season guidelines, and harvest limits for each species. Regulations can change, and some methods have special rules. Your guide can point you in the right direction, but it is best to confirm the latest details yourself.

    Texoma striper fishing

Tough fishing with 100+ degree summer temps. Captain Miller worjed his a$$ off to get us on the fish. We caught enough for our planned fish fry with plenty left over. We were able to catch some big catfish, sand bass, and stripers. I plan onusing Captain Miller again in the spring.

    Great time!

We had a pretty good fishing day:17 keepers of stripers, white bass, sand bass and a decent catfish between my friend and I. This was my second trip with Captain Dirk and will plan another for next year.

    Would recomend

Great trip, tags filled and Jerry was very personable. First time paddlefishing was a success. Captain Jerry kept things entertaining between fish. This trip was a great experience and i would recommend everyone to use captain Jerry. after we tagged out on paddle fish, captain Jerry used the scraps from the paddle fish as catfish bait and took us catfising! 10/10
